EDIT #1: Reply to owner's comment: Such an arrogant reply! We never ate at other places before coming to your restaurant and thanks to you even after having your food we never ate the same day! We aren't sure what your dictionary states as basic requirement, but based on culinary skills, which sadly we as customers seem to have more than what your chefs and service staff need to, food soaked and dripping with smelly unhygienic oil is not coined as a "basic requirement "

I recently dined at Aromas of Kodai with eight people for lunch, and it was a regrettable experience. The restaurant had a pleasant ambience, but the food and staff were a letdown.

Every dish we ordered was excessively oily, lacking in taste and overall quality. To make matters worse, all of us fell ill within hours of consuming the food. This unfortunate incident overshadowed any positives and left a lasting negative impression.

This place is in the heart of Kodaikanal , next to Kodaikanal Bus Stand. We had been for sight seeing and had already checked out of our hotel in the morning & had to catch a bus to Bengaluru in the evening. We planned to visit Hamuse Hotel Restaurant called Aromas of Kodai. We were extremely hungry and were also looking for a place to just fresh up and use wash room , have some snacks and pack our dinner from here to carry during our journey back. This place served our purpose. However, let me mention the pros and cons: Pros: Excellent Location and Accessibility Food is always available in this place Really clean washrooms and a good place to fresh up They had vegetarian food available and also pack the food for takeaway.

Cons: We had ordered food and had to repeatedly remind them to get the food It's not a completely vegetarian restaurant and you may get the smell of non veg also. There was no smile on the manager's face or any of the staff. They look over worked and were not doing their best. The spoon and the cup offered to us for tea was not clean

Final Review: This place is not a great one if you are very particular about having only vegetarian or Jain style food. However they do provide Vegetarian food and it was okay. We liked it overall. The location of the hotel is the biggest plus point and most importantly clean washroom to fresh up quickly before you board your bus.
