Balaram Mullick and Radharaman Mullick - New Alipore — Restaurant in Kolkata

Another outlet of Balaram Mullick & Radharam Mullick that I visited recently in Kolkata to pick mishti on my way back to Bangalore. The sweets like Sandesh, Mishti Doi, rasgullas etc are all available. They pack mishti doi and rasgullas to take in flight if you wish. Just tell them in advance for the special packing. There’s a nominal charge for that. Sweets are all reasonable. Sandesh varieties are mostly good here but do try their famous baked rasgulla and hot Gur rasgulla and Gulab jamun here. Those are really very good and unique. Being a Kolkata shop don’t expect efficiency in terms of time 😅 there will be 8 people standing at the counter but only 1 will be assigned and u have to wait patiently for him/ her to finish everything one after the other. WORST experience. I went there on 8 april 2019 and i bought half kg chamcham sweets and 1 kg shoundesh.. actually i am from delhi. So he told me that chamcham is ₹15/piece soo i told him to pack half kg chamcham soo accordingly i should get 20 pieces. But he put only 12 of them. And i believed him and i didn't even checked and bought them. So when i opend the box at home to eat then i saw that i have only 12 pieces and when i called them they talked very badly and said we dont know. We will not give your money back and cut my call. As i was unable to go to the shop because i had to catch my flight back to delhi. Else i would have teach him a lesson. People like them ruin the name of state or country. My order...

Firstly their customer relationship is poor. The sellers are not at all attentive to customers. They are busy with their phones and paperworks and don’t listen to customer orders. This is a recurring bad experience. And I actually came out of the shop without purchasing sweets. And regarding the sweets. They have long deviated from the path of traditional Bengali sweets and now more or less makes fusion sweets. Which are identity less deserts to say they least. They had lost their traditional roots and couldn’t reach an agreement with western bakery class. And now creating idiotic high calorie creations that are preferred by novices. Avoid the BRM chain in general. And avoid this specific shop...
