Not all outlet of CAFE BY THE LANE are good. I really loved the food, ambience and service of the Gariahat/ rashbihari branch i.e the main branch but the metropolitan branch is not at all up to the mark. We ordered wine batter fish and chilli chicken ( cheese) from the metropolitan branch it was horrible, the hot chocolate was good though , the chicken was so chewy at times I felt they didn't boil properly, the chips in wine batter fish were not fresh and smelly. But we ordered the same wine batter fish from the main branch it was so delicious, actually we went to the Rashbehari cafe by the lane 1st , the food and service was so good so we thought of trying the metropolitan one, but it was a total...

The ambience was awesome. Staff were professional and the food quality was good though the cost is high. A perfect place to spend some quality time and enjoy. While getting the bill they told us cost of the beverage was a bit more than what's in the menu which was weird. They asked us if we were okay with the price change though it should have been told to us in the beginning itself while we were ordering.
