It was my first time visiting Capnil kitchen. At first glance, it looked like a small and cozy cafe. Service seemed to be nice. Nothing out of the box though. Almost everything in the menu seemed to be overpriced. I visited with three of my friends. We decided to order fish fry for the starters and mutton biriyani for the main course. We also ordered cold drinks along with it (They provide normal Rs. 20 bottled cold drinks for Rs. 30). The price of everything in the menu were inclusive of GST. Biriyani costed us 280 per plate and fish fry costed us around 400-ish for four pieces. Taste of the biriyani was horrible. Mutton was not tender and was very chewy. Fish fingers were decent in taste but not at all worth the money. They didn't even serve us the cold drinks and added it into the bill. Later after complaining, they served the cold drinks.
They also took our order of three mutton biriyanis and served us two mutton biriyanis and one chicken biriyani. When we complained, they said that they do not have mutton biriyani available, and they could have informed this to us before while ordering but they didn't. Also the price of chicken biriyani was a whopping Rs. 250 and the taste was horrible as well.
Personally I would not recommend this resturant to anyone since it's overpriced and taste is average as well. But the behaviour of the staff was good. Staff were police and service was more or less...
Read moreCaplin Kitchen has been more than just a restaurant to me—it’s a part of my life’s journey. I’ve been visiting this place since I was 8 years old, always accompanied by my beloved parents. Today, at 32, walking into Caplin Kitchen without them brought a wave of emotions. Though they are no longer with me, this place holds their presence in every corner, every aroma, and every bite.
On my recent visit, I went with a close friend and we ordered the Chicken Lung Fung Soup, Chicken Momos, Fried Rice, and Schezwan Chicken Gravy. The moment the soup touched my lips, I was transported back in time. The taste was exactly how I remembered—rich, comforting, and full of flavor. The momos were perfectly steamed with a juicy filling, and the fried rice paired with that spicy, tangy Schezwan gravy was simply outstanding.
The cozy seating and warm ambiance made it an ideal shelter from the rain outside. It felt like a hug from the past—warm, familiar, and full of comfort.
Caplin Kitchen isn’t just about food; it’s about memories, consistency, and soulful service that has stood the test of time. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone looking for not just a meal, but an experience filled with warmth and nostalgia.
Must-visit. Truly one...
Read moreA few months back I went to this restaurant with my wife as it is near to my in - law's place and she naively stated it to be a decent place to eat. Decent it is, with a good crowd and I am ready to pay a premium for something decent. The fact is they charge quite extravagant but the quantity demands a lot. Horrendous Chinese, Mughlai is okay and Indian, portion wise demands a lot. Had mutton curry, 4 pcs in a plate but I can state 1 pc mutton had been chopped into 4pc to summize a plate. They overcharged me for 2 pet bottle of soda and when I pointed the error in the bill, they relented. So my point is, today we don't have any regulation on the price that are arbitrarily charged by the restaurant for the food, though quality wise they don't deserve to be overpriced. Quantity and quality wise I found only 1 item to be in moderation, that is the...
