Falam Cafe — Restaurant in Kolkata

Falam "The Fruit Cafe" located near the Phoolbagan Metro Station has become an preferred place to have Cold Beverages which are Healthy and made Fresh. They don't add sugar in their juices but are still naturally sweet to taste which in itself is a surprise to me and yes they also do not add any preservatives in them.

Im today's time, being aware of your daily intake is very important and switching to healthy drinks is a welcome change that promotes a better lifestyle in the long run. We often end up eating or drinking things that are really harmful for us because we do not know what goes inside but when we talk about food and drinks served right in front of your eyes, that is when one feels rest assured.

Coming to Falam has made me try some of the drinks which i never thought would amalgamate so well and also be presented in such a tempting manner, one would never refuse. Drinks like Sugarcane Lemonade, Sugarcane Kiwi Ale, Chilly Mango Pataka, Daily Detox Juice are sure shot recommendations from my end here for it's health benefits and pure taste. Apart from these, they have an awesome menu for Shakes, Kulfi's, snacking items like Mix Cut fruit bowls, Sandwiches, Pizza Sandwich, Smoothie bowls, Tomato Avacado toast, Salads and many others.

Their Kulfi menu was one of a kind, as i tried Alphonso Mango, Coffee Caramel, Kesar Pista and Rose Pista flavour. It was creamy and smooth in consistency, easily making it an addictive treat indeed.

Falam has a 15 to 20 seating cosy space which is best for indulging in their food and drinks, and pass your time over board games.

Recently I came across this small yet quaint fruit cafe which is located near Phoolbagan metro station. Falam is a sanskrit word which means 'fruit' in English. It's the first fruit cafe in Kolkata which is purely dedicated to fresh cold pressed juices.They have a huge variety of juices, shakes, smoothies, kulfi, healthy drinks & munchies to choose from. The cafe can easily accommodate 15-20 people at a time. Some of the items which I tried from their menu are- Pine Cane Colada- this was an absolutely refreshing blend of sugarcane juice & pineapple

Sugarcane juice- this juice was extracted using a machine which was quite fast & fresh cold pressed juice was presented within minutes.

Hangover Over- this had a sweet concotion of coconut water, lemon juice, orange juice, ginger and mint which was totally exhilarating.

Kulfi- a perfect dessert to cool off during this summer. Kulfi is one of their best selling items and they prepare this in house itself from top quality ingredients. I tried their Coffee Caramel flavour & it was totally heaven!

Grilled Cheese Veg Sandwich- loaded with generous amount of veggies and cheese this was quite filling and good to know that use their in-house bread which definitely made the taste several notches above the normal or regular sandwiches.

Tasty food, but service bad, extremely slow, and portions are way too small. It's ridiculous for this price, especially the tea! I don't understand all the good critics. It took them 1h to do ONE smoothie bowl and ONE tea, I was the only customer and they brought the tea 15min after I finished my food, after I reminded it to them. The tea was a very small cup with one tea bag, not even a good brand, that's not normal. I asked them to give me a bigger cup with more hot water and they refused! Very disappointing and ridiculous Toilets cleanliness needs to be improved seriously, smelly and hairs in the shower, walls dirty. A place with a very hight potential, but totally wasted by poor management. It is like having a golden mine in your hands and just throwing it away. What a pity. I really wanted to like the place, but was so disappointed that I will never come back and neither will I recommend it. When you have this kind of price and you are aiming for this kind of standards, quality of service and cleanliness should follow, and don't steal your customers by serving so little. Left the place being still hungry and having spent 400inr. Guy at the front desk is efficient, seems to be running the whole place by himself. Still served me ridiculous portions. Not really sure about what the other staff is doing except...
