Being from North Kolkata, I’m surprised I missed this wonderful Punjabi Dhaba tucked away in Phoolbagan. It has a rustic, no-frills dhaba vibe—simple seating, no air conditioning—but the food truly stands out.

What I Tried:

Rumali Roti – Rs.15 (4/5) Served fresh and hot. Soft and perfectly done.

Chicken Bharta (Half) – Rs.140 (5/5) Absolutely delicious! No floating oil, no margarine—just pure shredded chicken, served hot with a rich and balanced flavor.

This place is far more affordable than nearby options like Rang De Basanti and Honey Da Dhaba, yet the quality is impressive. It's an honest, no-nonsense dhaba that focuses on authentic Punjabi flavors.

A visit to a Dhaba called The New Punjabi Hotel in Kankurgachi was a satisfying in many ways.  The New Punjabi Hotel is one of the oldest authentic Punjabi dhabas in Kolkata.  It is around 70 years old when it was introduced in Kolkata with traditional Punjabi recipes.
