Located near the Tollygunge Tram Depot, Manti Restaurant holds a special place in my heart for its nostalgic charm and delightful Biryani. It was here that I had my first taste of Biryani, priced at just Rs 26, a memory that remains vivid even today.
The restaurant's ambiance is simple yet inviting, with a cozy atmosphere that transports you back in time. The walls adorned with old photographs and the aroma of spices wafting from the kitchen evoke a sense of comfort and familiarity. Now, onto the Biryani itself – it's simply outstanding. The rice is perfectly cooked with each grain distinct and infused with rich, aromatic flavors. Tender pieces of meat or vegetables (depending on your preference) are generously layered throughout, offering a burst of taste with every bite. The balance of spices is just right, neither too mild nor overpowering, leaving a lingering satisfaction after each mouthful.
The service at Manti Restaurant is prompt and friendly, adding to the overall pleasant dining experience. The staff members are courteous and eager to ensure that you have a memorable meal.
In conclusion, Manti Restaurant at Tollygunge Tram Depot is not just a place to eat; it's an experience steeped in nostalgia and culinary delight. Whether you're revisiting old memories or creating new ones, Manti's Biryani promises to satisfy both your hunger...
Read moreRecently I went to this place after a long time with the expectation of tasty biryani as this place always smells like mughlai dishes. But this time I was little disappointed with the quality of food. Earlier it used to be very tasty but now the biryani seems to be on diet which was very dry where as other side sides were with lots of oil that I needed to pour it out (thus couldn't click the pic) . But quantity was really good. If you want to have lunch being a vegetarian than it would be a problem because though they have few options of veg dishes but you'll only get Matar paneer along with nun, paratha , butter nun etc which tastesgood though. Their rolls are alsa tatste good. I felt like it has became little overpriced since then in terms of such ambiance(non-ac restaurant, 2plates chicken biryani with 1pc potato and chicken costs rs 504 including gst) but yea afterall it's your choice and your money. Lastly I believe if you are not a person with a weight full personality then few of the staffs might ask for tips and incase if you don't give then again these few of the staffs might not feel good...
Read moreI’m absolutely furious about the biryani I received today, Friday at around 3:30 PM. I paid ₹900 for two chicken biryanis and one mutton biryani—and what I got was an insult. The rice was completely lifeless, with zero aroma or spices as well the potato. It tasted exactly like plain boiled rice with potatoes—nothing more. The mutton was tough, chewy, and downright inedible. It wasn’t cooked properly, and it had no flavor or tenderness whatsoever.
I’ve eaten biryani all over Kolkata, and I’ve never been treated to something this pathetic. You call this food? It’s an embarrassment. You’re charging real money for something that looks and tastes like leftovers from a bad home-cooked meal. This is unacceptable, and I refuse to ever order from you again unless you fix this disaster immediately.
Get your chef to learn what spices are. Rethink your recipe. Change your ingredients. Because right now, you’re insulting your customers—and wasting their hard-earned money. I expect a prompt response and real action, or I’ll make sure everyone knows just how awful...
