Food Review: Murg Afghani Kebab (Half) from Oudh1590, Behala via Swiggy

I recently ordered the Murg Afghani Kebab (Half) from Oudh1590, Behala, through the Swiggy app, and my experience was quite disappointing.

Presentation & Portion Size: The app's picture showcased two leg pieces with thighs, but what I received was significantly less. Instead of the expected portion, I got a single piece, which was halved to maintain the appearance of two pieces. This felt misleading, especially given the high price point.

Taste & Quality: Despite the portion issue, the taste was decent. The chicken was tender and well-marinated, with the rich, creamy flavors characteristic of Afghan cuisine. However, the quality didn't justify the premium pricing.

Value for Money: Considering the high cost and the misleading portion size, the meal did not offer good value for money. The portion size was not sufficient for a half order, and the overall experience felt underwhelming.

Delivery & Packaging: The delivery by Swiggy was prompt, and the packaging was satisfactory. The food arrived warm and well-sealed.

Overall Rating: 1.5/5. While the taste was satisfactory, the portion size and the deceptive presentation were major letdowns. I expected more from a restaurant like Oudh1590, especially at such a high price. Not recommended unless they improve their portion sizes to match the...

The biriyani I recently had was nothing short of extraordinary. Cooked in pure desi ghee, every grain of rice was infused with rich, aromatic flavors that transported me straight to the heart of traditional cuisine. The ghee not only added a luscious texture but also enhanced the overall taste, making each bite a delightful experience.

The marinated meat was tender and juicy, perfectly complementing the spices. The balance of cardamom, cloves, and saffron created a fragrant profile that was both comforting and exotic. The layers of flavors revealed themselves with each mouthful, showcasing the chef’s skill and attention to detail.

Moreover, the presentation was impressive, vibrant adding a touch of elegance. The portion size was generous, making it a satisfying meal for anyone craving authentic biriyani.

Similar for the Special Zafrani kebabs and chicken shahi korma which added an extra flavour to our taste buds.

Overall, this biriyani and kebabs alng with the chicken shahi korma experience was a celebration of culinary heritage, showcasing the beauty of using high-quality ingredients like pure desi ghee. Bringing back the magical era with'Oudh 1590'

Intricately designed, mammoth attention to detail in every aspect of the décor & concept, average service & some very good food. It’s very intricately and beautifully designed. Starting from the exterior of the restaurant to the interior there is heavy woodwork with intricate designs. The interior designer if this place really did a fab job and had tremendous attention to detail. Apart from the food, there were two types of drinks – Gulab Sherbet and Badam Sherbet. I believe, these drinks are perfectly suited to the royal theme. The Galawati Kebabs, as usual, left me speechless. They were extremely soft so as to melt in my mouth. Even the parathas were thin as paper, to complement the flavour of the Galawati Kebabs, without supressing it. I don’t need anything to say about my favourite Rann Biryani. I’m sure most of you have tried this. Apart from this I’ve also tried Awadhi Mutton Handi Biryani ,Chicken Biryani,Qalmi kabab,Kakori kabab,chicken Irani.
