Firstly the ambience, its as expected and nothing fancy. Just a normal roadside AC restaurant with no cooling what soever.
Service was poor! For 15 mins the floor was absolutely without any attendant. I went outside to ask for the menu which was no where to be found. Ultimately our hero arrived and we placed our order.
We wanted 2 mutton biryani, but was informed that they have only 1 serving left. So we went for 1 mutton biryani (rs 280), 1 chicken biryani (rs 250) and a chicken rezala (rs 230).
Both the biryani were served with boiled eggs. Chicken piece was decent, mutton piece was tough without any aroma or flavour of biryani. Absolutely not worth the money! Locals shops like A1 Taj Biryani does a better job.
Now coming to the disaster chicken rezala. It had 4 pieces and trust me it was SWEET. If you are blind folded and tried the gravy you will feel that you are trying payesh (as we call it in bengali). Also who the hell serves rezala with Raw papaya! At first I thought it had pieces of paneer but was shocked to find pieces of peeled raw papaya😂.
When we complained abt the rezala, they even had the audacity to say that their rezala is made sweet!
Learning for me: From now on i will ask for a rezala gravy sample before placing the order!
I would not recommend this place. If you dont mind Chinese cuisine then take an auto towards bunty bridge and go to Chowman instead! You will atleast enjoy the meal and you money wil...
Read moreWe had Butter Tandoori Rotis, Dal Makhani and Chicken Bharta... The Rotis and Dal Makhani was absolutely delicious, but the most expensive dish among these three, The chicken bharta was the most obnoxious disaster I ever had till date. The gravy was pure white in colour, with a horrendous taste (like cornstarch, flour, gruel and sugar all cooked together to make the gravy). To add cherry on top, the boiled egg which is to served in pieces over the bharta as a whole, was mashed and mixed and cooked in the gravy, even that was half cooked.. Just had to search for chicken pieces and eat them, just to recover my money, whole gravy was wasted (even though I never waste food, no matter how bad it is) ... Never, I repeat never order Chicken Bharta here, you might not be able to enjoy that dish, ever again... Other foods were good enough, service time is...
Read moreThis is right near Garia More and is hard to miss. The restaurant now serves in disposable plates, but that may be due to the Pandemic. The service is still decent though, and so is the food.
While this place is famous for it's Biriyani and Rolls, the Tandoori Chicken is a must try. It is probably one of the best I have ever tasted, and I've tasted quite a few in my time. :-). The Chicken Do Peaza and Mutton Kasa may also be tried, though one might want to ask for a separate bowl to remove the oil floating on top.
The prices are reasonable and a meal for two should cost around Rs.600/-. Definitely recommended and worth a visit IMO.
