A lovely family restaurant situated opposite of IRIS hospital and also on the roadside. It is sivided into 2 floors and I got a seat on the second floor. Here goes my review.
I am dividing the review on basis of few points, here it follows:-
Ambience - The restaurant is not so outstanding in terms of ambience, felt common as other chinese restaurants. Soft music playing in the background and similar chinese symbols up on the wall. There were some old photos of Shanghai city up on the wall which was good. There is a photogenic staircase to reach the second floor. As a whole it felt repetitive and was similar to any small chinese restaurants of Calcutta.
2.Service - The waiters treated us well and even guided us through the menu, explaining us the dishes how many times we asked. One of the waiter even corrected his mistake on telling a dish incorrectly before. Although they didn't informed us anything about the choice of water. They would charge for the water ₹30/litre.
3.Food - The food was standard not so high standard. The special menu for chinese new year had wonderful dishes. The pork and drumstick(the names are writeen below) was awesome, I liked the pork so much that I had so much, my friends got angry. The rice had quite a portion and the food was heavy on the stomach. We were 4 friends but the the amount of food we took was less, but it took a lot of space and we couldn't move at all.
4.Price - The price in my opinion is a bit high, and especially they charged us for the water which was not even informed before hand. It would bee better if the waiters inform this before hand only.
Menu - We were 4 people in a group and we had:- For starters, • Belacan fried chicken • Wings shandong style(Chinese new year special) In main course, • Pan fried noodles Cantonese White • Hunan chicken rice(Chinese new year special) • Ginger spring onion pork(Chinese new year special) • Bulgoli chiken Verdict:- I loved it but felt repetitive in comparison to other chinese restaurants, The prices are a bit higher but the quantity is good. We shared 1 plate of each of the dishes mentioned above, and it fullfiles our stomach to...
Read moreHave been hearing about this restaurant for a long time since it opened. Since, it's not so far from my home, we just planned one day to give it a shot.
Firstly, coming to the ambience, the place has a two storeyed sitting arrangement and is spacious. The upper floor is also rented out entirely for occassions. We sat on the ground floor area and found there was quite a queue. People are waiting to in the waiting area or outside which I didn't expect for a restro of this scale. Probably it is quite popular with the local crowd.
The waiters made us comfortable and also recommended some new starters. We tried out a Whole Bhetki (choice of sauce) to start with. Chose the sauce as butter garlic. Dish was served quickly but we found out it's too salty. I asked the waiter and he happily changed it. The amount was good and it was nice dish to try out. We also had ordered a Mango Mule for beverage. The taste was so so... not too great not too bad.
Coming to the main course we tried out Pad Thai Kung Nang (Chicken) Bulgogi Chicken
Both of them were good and the quantity was huge...At the end it was difficult to even finish it up. Pad thai was a smokey flavored flat noodles and Bulgogi was also a spiced up and smokey gravy flavored chicken.
So if you live somehwere between Garia to Gariahat, you can definitely try it out. Don't experiment too much with apetizers, but can definitely do with the...
