Food – The taste is good, but not exceptional. Since my school days, I've visited this bakery not only for the flavor but also for the relationship. Unfortunately, now it's purely business. I don’t mind them running a business, but it shouldn’t come at the cost of providing such poor service.
Service – If there were a rating below zero, I’d give it. In most restaurants and hotels, service is a priority—welcoming customers with a smile and taking orders with humility. Here, the service was just pathetic. The waiters were rushing around without attending to anyone. Even asking for a glass of water felt like a mistake, judging by the looks they gave. I placed a takeaway order, and they initially told me it would be ready in 15 minutes. Later, a waiter informed me that takeaway orders must be picked up from a separate counter downstairs. I mentioned that I hadn’t been told that, and asked if they could bring it this time. He agreed but returned five minutes later, saying they couldn’t take delivery orders from this area and that I had to go to the other counter. It’s the same restaurant—how can they not process the order here and force customers to go elsewhere?
The takeaway counter at St. George is another nightmare. Going there feels like asking for free food based on how the staff behave and treat customers. The counter area isn’t clean, there’s no proper seating, and customers have to stand in the heat for almost 40 minutes to collect their orders. The attitude of the staff at the counter is the worst part. I don’t understand why there's such a difference in treatment between dining in and ordering takeaway. Both services charge the same amount.
If you're planning to order takeaway, be prepared for an adventure—and to encounter some terrible staff.
Ambience – Not great. The surroundings are not clean at all.
Suggestion – If you don’t focus on improving your service and customer satisfaction, it’s going to impact your business negatively. This was one of the worst...
Read moreROTTEN CHICKEN used in CHICKEN FRY(Kozhi porichathu).
I visited this restaurant today (27 October 2022) at 3 PM with my friend. We ordered one kozhi porichathu(chicken fry), chicken fried rice, chicken tikka masala, garlic naan, and 2 mojitos(green apple and blueberry).
Food: The chicken used in the chicken fry was not fresh, it was borderline ROTTEN. The chicken in the chicken tikka masala was also not fresh but was not stale like the one used in the chicken fry. And it tasted below average as well. Note that this dish was recommended by the staff! The other items were good enough.
Service: There was barely two staff to take the order. We had to wait for 10 minutes to get someone to give us the menu. Another 15 minutes for him to come back and take the order. So, I would rate the service also zero, just like the food.
Parking: Only 2-3 cars can be parked. Luckily, we went there by bike and there was enough space for a bike.
Price: 800 for the above items and I would say that the pricing is not that high IF the food was good. It's comparable to similar restaurants. However, when we consider the quality or rather lack of quality, I must say that it's overpriced. I mean 190 rs for one chicken fry made with ROTTEN chicken.
Conclusion: AVOID THE RESTAURANT. However, the bakery on the ground floor is good. Now, those who read this will naturally doubt why I didn't complain about the food. I am someone who usually raises my voice against such issues but today I just couldn't afford to waste the day of my friend.
Nevertheless, I am planning to file a complaint with the food...
