On our way back to Mumbai, we wanted to eat some nice non veg food and were searching for a good place. Saw “ Kolhapuri Thaat” closer to the Mumbai Expressway and decided to check it out. It’s a lovely cosy restaurant with Bamboo interiors. Being a Thursday, the place was not crowded and we got a place to sit immediately, We ordered Mutton Masala Thalis as well as Mutton Fry Thalis with one of us ordering Veg food. We were served Pandhra Rassa which was just as good as the typical one you get in Kolhapur which heightened our expectations. Within some time, our Thalis were served with hot Chapati ( amazing), Tambda Rassa, Egg curry besides the main dish. Loved every bit. The food was well cooked , not very spicy & tasted absolutely authentic. The service too is worth a mention. The Table matts are creatively made with whacky lines & also debunking some myths ( such as Kolhapuri food doesn’t mean spicy, it’s a taste). We were also recommended Kharda Mutton- very tasty but a bit spicy. The Sol kadhi was perfectly balanced - not too thick nor watery. Gulab jamun was served hot & was soft and tasty. There was lots to eat but unfortunately we were too full so need to visit this place again for sure. Parulkars have done a great job by introducing Kolhapuri food in Pune which is going to take the...
Read moreIf you’re craving authentic Kolhapuri cuisine in Pune, Kolhapuri Thaat is the place to be. I recently had the Kolhapuri Thali here, and I can confidently say—this is hands down the best Kolhapuri food in Pune.
From the moment the thali was served, I knew I was in for a treat. The variety was impressive—rich, spicy curries, perfectly cooked mutton and chicken dishes, and traditional accompaniments like tambda and pandhra rassa that packed a flavorful punch. The spice level was just right—fiery enough to satisfy a Kolhapuri food lover, but still balanced and deeply aromatic.
What stood out to me was the authenticity in every bite. The flavors were bold and unapologetically true to Kolhapuri roots. The bhakri was fresh, the thecha had the perfect kick, and even the solkadhi was refreshingly spot-on.
The staff was warm and attentive, and the ambience had a rustic, home-style charm that added to the whole experience.
If you’re a fan of Maharashtrian cuisine or just want to try something truly flavorful, Kolhapuri Thaat is a must-visit. This place doesn’t just serve food—it serves tradition on a plate. Highly...
