With my recent visit to Desi Aroma in Baner, it has become my personal favourite my so many reasons. This restaurant has cracked the equation of how to keep chicken in its best soft and moist condition. Each dish I was served was complimenting the unique style of its preparation and the skillset of the chef.
I literally lack words on how to describe the softness of the chicken.
What we had in starters:
Prawns Thecha,Murg Jalandhari Kabab, Murg dahi lasooni, Lazeer Tandoori Malai and Hussaini seekh kabab in non veg and Firangi tokri,Achari kumbh,Jalandari Paneer Tikka,Veg Noorani Seek and Tandoori Angar in Veg.
The experience was out of the world and mind blowing. Not even single dish tasted same or even close to each other as it had so much variety in it.Softness and juiciness was a common to parameter to all of them. Fish served to us was Rawas. Chicken and Paneer starters were having distinct creamy, mustard flavour. The starters made me emotional.(Yup!! I do get emotional after having good food.)
In main course we had Chicken Dhaba which was chicken gravy which which had the feel of dhaba to it. Generally the dhaba style cooking has big pieces of everything right from the ingredients (Not everything is finely chopped) as it is made in hurry in dhabas.Superb taste and can be customized to make it even spicier
In rice we have Banaras pulao and Biryani.Pulao was to the point and full with flavours and had paneer, mutter and crisp caramalized onions as ingredients.
I cant stress enough on the biryani though! Hands down, this is my favourite non-dum biryani.THe chicken was so amazingly cooked that I tried to pick it up by holding the bone and the bone was in my hand and chicken fell down bt its own weight. Cant expect more than this from biryani. Perfect!! khushi k aasu aa gaye.
What more to expect after this much exceptional good food? Then came the deserts and these were literally like the cherry in a perfect position which is put on the perfect cake which was the food.
We had Phirni, Shahi tukda , Kulfi and Caramel custard out of which Shahi tukda and phirni was clear sure shot winner for me.
Perfect sweetness, the crispness of shahi tukda and texture and taste of phirni stole it all. Came home afte this heavy lunch and slept like a baby.
Stars of the meal :
Prawn Thecha, Desi Aroma Special Murgh Biryani and Shahi Tukda. Surprising isnt it ? Even I never expected a mainstream restaurant would be remembered by the biryani it serves. Prawn thecha, on the other hand, had the perfect spice. #MustTry #MostRecommended

Menu:-
Starters Shahi Sweet Jeera Water Masala Papad Dum ke Kebab Tandoori Kebab Murg Lebnese Tikka Aloo corn tikki Teen Mirchi Ka Paneer
Main Course Masaledar Tawa Sabzi Dhaba Chicken Komdi Rassa Subzi Dum Biryani Murg matka dum biryani Roti, Kulcha n Laccha Paratha
Desert Shahi Tukda Gulab Jamun
Starting from shahi sweet water felt like having gol gappas the only thing that was missing was the Poori's. Coming to starters first came the Murg Lebnese Tikka which was served in the way of sizzler but the chicken tasted so yum, juicy and tender. Couldn't get to taste aloo corn tikki and teen mirchi ka paneer but can definitely by the looks of the veg starters and my friends that it was yum as well. Coming to other non veg starters my favorites has to " Dum ke Kebab ' n " Tandoori Kebab ". Dum Ke Kebab are chicken malai tikkas served inside an earthen pot with hot coal inside and then sealed off flour dough to get that dum effect and Tandoori Kebab was your regular desi tandoori chicken. But what makes these two things the best amount marination done which made them tender and so juicy and so Buttery a big warning for ppl who have cholesterol issues would recommend staying away from it because once they will have it they can't stay away from it. The juices the marination of the finished product is so yumm that one won't feel shy to have the whole plate neat and clean thru their fingers.
Coming on the main course Masaledaar Tawa Sabzi tasted great as per my standards as me more of a non-veg when eating out. Coming to non-veg segment Komdi Rassa was okish semi thick gravy needs to have with Rice but none less the pieces were tender. Dhaba chicken took my heart away juicy, tender pieces with a brownish gravy. In the end came the Murg Matka dum biryani must say the aroma was simply outstanding the moment the server removed the dough from the top of the rice it was attack of all the great masalas used to make the biryani hitting my nostrils and also the best thing was the biryani rice wasn't sticky and grains of the rice were long not the short ones.
Coming to the people had recommended having the shahi tukda so it was ordered along with Gulab Jamun and man oh man I must both of them didn't disappoint us all. Gulab Jamun's were damn soft and juicy that they almost melted in my mouth and shahi tukda was worth ordering and eating both a...
Read moreOn Monday evening , Me and my friends wanted to taste authentic north indian food. So , we headed to Desi aroma as we have heard a lot about this place.
We ordered Corn Palak shorba to start with.I must say it was one of the best shorba's I had and that too made of Palak. In drinks we ordered jaljira, Sweet and mango lassi. Both Sweet and Mango lassi were perfectly made, neither too thick or thin.
In starters we tried different items in veg and non-veg: Aloo Corn Tikki -- A spicy paste of meshed potatoes , sweet corn, garlic, ginger and chillies gave it a new dimension to this famous Indian street food’s taste and texture. Hara bhara Kebab -- A vegetarian kebab prepared with spinach, potatoes and green peas was really tasty. Paneer bharwan islamabadi -- Soft paneer pieces having having good stuffing. Tandoori kukkad -- It was a melange of spices like black pepper, cinnamon, smoked paprika, minced parlic, garam masala and crushed coriander. Murg lapeta kebab -- Roasted and crushed masalas gave it a rich flavour. The exotic aroma of masalas coating the chicken makes it an irresistible dish. Hussaini Seekh kebab -- It was a succulent and tasty kebab served with pudina chutney and freshly chopped onions.Lime was squeezed on them to enhance the taste.
After trying so many starters , it was time for main course. So we ordered : Dhaba chicken -- Chicken simmered in a smoky onion tomato gravy and flavoured with aromatic spices makes this dish very delicious. Murg Matka -- Delicious chicken gravy properly marinated with tomatoes and green chilies. Dhaba chicken biryani and Sabzi dum biryani -- These were perfectly made by thhe chef. It has perfect blend of spices.
