Went there with high expectations after watching a video on youtube. We ordered Galuti kebab and Lucknowi chicken biryani. Galuti kebab were the best and even my family like them. It almost melts in your mouth. So full marks for it. But the biryani is the worst i have ever had even worst than those 70rs biryanis you get on road side caterers. The owner did informed us and everyone who was ordering it that it will be like a pulav and not you regular biryani but it wasnt even like a pulav even veg pulao has more taste than this. Almost tasteless either their cook doesnt know how to make a biryani with aromatic spices or if this is authentic lucknowi biryani then Lucknow being a city of Nawabs, this biryani will definitely be a " Garibo ki Biryani" because i don't think any nawab would eat this even i would have kicked the chef out if was a nawab and this was served to me. I know i am being way too harsh but the reason is I have cooked almost all type of biryanis at home be it Kacchi biryani or Pakki one, dum biryani or Pulav type. I have even had an awadhi biryani and that is not spicy but u can actually feel the aroma of spices in the rice and thats the best part of it. But this biryani had none, the rice was completely bland, tastelss, even the chicken pieces looked like they were marinated with chilli powder only. They say on their menu that they use Atomatic spices like mace, cardamom, clove etc but there was nothing as any1 would know if you even use just cardamom the entire rice smells like it and there are other aromatic spices like cassia bark and bay leaf which are not spicy but are aromatic and give nice taste and aroma to rice but looks like they didn't even bother to use those. Cost cutting on next level and this is the reason i said that biryani is "Poor Mans Biryani" because only some1 who is poor wont be able to afford spices and will use only color, red chilli. If someone can just put a 'potli' of aromatic spices while cooking the rice it will taste much better, atleast it would have some taste then. 1 star only for the kebab. Also the people sitting on the other table said that the nihari was not good, the curry tasted nice but it was not a Nihari. Also the reason i was so disappointed is the prices are very high i mean for 280+taxes i could buy a full chicken with rice and cook a better biryani at home. Also if you dont believe me try Biryani at Jagdamb in Sadashiv peth, same price non spicy and way more tasty and aromatic, with desi ghee, this Lucknow biryani didn't...
Read moreExpensive as hell the mutton biryani ....and it was not fresh at all for two its was 670 just for the biryani and 2 pc galauti kebab very poor taste of biryani not good as the local vendors in lucknow but sadly it was the poor experience. Even i had biryani of idris the popular one from lucknow ... And being a chef professionally i can sense the flavours for your information buddy (owner) they cook their mutton in yakhni and milk and mitha itr(kewda essence) and lots of whole spices like cardamom cloves manymore , even in dastarkhwan the popular restaurant in Lucknow i personally like their biryani cuz of aroma your biryani is just bland as hell just oily rice with some colour ... The quality of the rice is not even good we had more good quality rice at our own home and its long grain .... So better not fool people .... There are lots and lots of good outlets in pune , as you seems to a rude person and lack of knowledge man who just uselessly replying and claiming your biryani the best ,, its pune baby , dont ever try to fool just check your facts first ... If its good its good , no one is having biryani at your outlet for free so every customer have right to share your biryani review and remember if your biryani is good don't claim yourself that it good .... The crowd will tell just go and visit restaurant like jagdamba they're not even promoting their biryani those people have thali concept but just try biryani once i recommend you or for that matter try sp biryani if you really wanna smoke
High ingredients cost was clearly not in your biryani. There was no clue of whole spices as such , and other thing is my damn throat just got sick with that oily rice that you call your ( authentic) biryani as even i had visited the doctor...this is not the point here but as i can see that youre way too overconfident...
Read moreI had some mixed feelings about this place. Before visiting, I read some reviews and was hesitant about the owner's firm stance on preserving the authentic taste of biryani. While I believe it's important to maintain authenticity, the biryani should still be visually appealing. Unfortunately, I decided not to order it after seeing serve to another customer’s and by its looks was not appealing rather lackluster serving. The reviews also dissuaded me from trying it.
We tried the galouti kabab, laisani tikka, and chicken curry. The galouti kabab was the only dish that stood out; the rest need improvement. The chicken dishes were disappointing, being tough and flavorless.
For dessert, we had sewaniyan, but even that seemed slightly overcooked but still edible
Overall, I think this place has potential, but the quality of the chicken needs attention. I believe the chefs and their skills are great; it's the ingredients that might need improvement.
Lastly, every region has its own unique biryani style and taste. While Hyderabad biryani stands out, I strongly believe that Lucknowi biryani could be a worthy contender. My suggestion would be to focus on improving the presentation of the biryani to entice customers to try it.
PS: Please also keep the outside surrounding neat and there are at least 4 stray dogs outside the restaurant making me quite intimidated...
