Restaurant Review: Malashree Pure Veg, Pimple Saudagar.
Address: HQXX+J5C, Shri Ram Colony, Pimple Saudagar, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Maharashtra 411027
Being a Saturday night, we decided to visit a well-known vegetarian restaurant in the Pimple Saudagar–Rahatani area—Malashree Pure Veg. Though quite popular, we had never dined there before, so we thought of giving it a try.
First Impressions & Seating
As expected on a weekend, the restaurant was crowded, and we had to wait for about 10 minutes before getting a table. However, upon sitting down, we noticed that the table was broken, so we had to shift to another one.
Ordering Experience
Our little one wanted to have Masala Papad, but the waiter informed us that they pre-mix the masala, and it would be quite spicy. Since customization wasn’t possible, we decided to skip it.
We asked the waiter for their best medium-spicy dish, and without hesitation, he recommended Veg Maharaja. However, he also made it clear that they do not allow any customization, such as reducing the spice level, as their masalas are pre-prepared.
So, we placed our order: ✅ Veg Maharaja ✅ 3 Wheat Butter Rotis
Food & Service
The waiting time was quite long—about 20-25 minutes—which felt excessive.
Veg Maharaja: The dish had a tangy and flavorful (chatpata) taste, which we all liked. However, it was quite spicy, and my wife couldn't handle the heat. So, I ended up finishing it.
Roti Refill: When we ordered another roti, it took them 15 minutes just to serve one! Anticipating further delays, we immediately ordered Jeera Rice to avoid waiting later.
Jeera Rice: This was served in 10 minutes and tasted good.
Final Verdict
✅ Food Taste & Quality: Good (3.75/5) ❌ Service: Extremely slow. You will need to remind them about your order multiple times. ❌ Customization: Not allowed, as they use pre-prepared masalas. ❌ Management: Poor coordination, sluggish service despite high demand.
Price & Parking
💰 Total Bill: ₹510 for:
1 Water Bottle
1 Veg Maharaja
4 Butter Rotis
1 Jeera Rice
🚗 Parking: Two-wheeler and four-wheeler parking can be tricky on weekends, as you'll have to park on the roadside.
Would I visit again? Only if I have a lot of time to spare and patience for slow service. The food was good, but the long waiting times and lack of flexibility in customization were...
Read moreBeware.... a very disappointed Custumer here
Waste of money, I had ordered basic dal fry and trandoori roti .... Expecting atleast basic food can't go wrong...the Rotis served were cold... But the dal fry was even more pathetic
It was made of chana and moong daal more to taste like a thin pitla than a daal, the thickness was thinner than any regular dal fry that we get in hotel, no tomato no onion God knows what kind of recipes they follow.... forget about Tomato Onion it had no turmeric and the colour of daal was dirty yellow, only one garlic clove, no spices no Green chilly no flavours just yukk... Definitely not a recommended place even to try it on...
When I said in all standard recipes the dal fry is made of toor/arhar daal they said we don't make it that way and we don't say people about this upfront
Please avoid ..... Isse to ghar ki thadi roti basi daal achchi hoti hai
I doubt how can someone give a 5 star to such mismanaged place.... Mostly look like acquaintances nd others would...
Read moreI am a newcomer to Pune and my friends warned me to steer clear from Marathi restaurants but I decided to try it to see if there was truth in it.
Just as warned the food was extremely oily and tasted horrible.
The so called plain rice was terribly oily and in fact inedible.
The garlic naans were literally soaked with oil but in fairness the garlic was freshly crushed and plentiful and so this item was (despite its obvious shortcomings) the best we had hence the second star.
The main courses were not tasty and as usual very oily.
The servers are very friendly but they have no idea what they are doing.
In the space of 40 minutes two items we specifically asked for were forgotten by the...
