Malvan Samudraa - Seafood Restaurant (Chinchwad) — Restaurant in Maharashtra

We ordered the following items here

1. Bangda thali Rs.372/-
2. Surmai thali Rs.565/-
3. Prawns thali Rs.540/-
4. Mandeli fry Rs.240/- What was good: The rawa fried bangda which comes with the thali though quite small was fresh and well prepared. The prawns masala which comes with the prawns thali was authentic and tasted good. The sukkat (prepared from dried prawns) was good. Solkadi was pretty good and perhaps the only item we all liked. What was bad: Fish curry in all thali's come with absolutely no fish - this is absurd! On asking the staff they were clueless! The curry which comes with the prawns thali had 3 or 4 pieces prawns which I'm sure were boiled separately and dunked in the curry as they were absolutely bland. This is not how fish or prawns curry is prepared - period! Prawns thali dis not include any fried prawns inspite of being priced at Rs.540! The rawa fried surmai which comes with the thali had an unpleasant odour and was not fresh. The mandeli (anchovies) were coated in thick flour paste before being rawa fried. This preparation completely killed the flavour. Rice served with the thali was sticky and overcooked so did not go well with the curry. To top it all off - credit card payments aren't accepted here!

Overall a bad experience and definitely not worth the price. Will not recommend this place to anyone looking for fresh, authentic and reasonably priced coastal seafood. There are plenty of options in Pune which are way better at the same...

“I did not like the taste of Sea Food!”

This is what I said when I tasted Sea Food first time in my life, many years ago and that's because my taste buds were familiar with just the taste of Chicken and Mutton!

Recently I visited Malvan Samudra Opposite Tata Motors Gate Chinchwad. They have multiple specialties in Seafood like pomfrets, surmai, bangda fish, bombil, prawns as well as tasty cold solkadhi.

This is what I had ordered

#BombilFry: I have never eaten such a crispy fish anywhere else. These were Crispy on the outside and moist inside. Perfectly fried using rawa. Served along with a lip-smacking tangy chutney

#Surmaithali and #Bangdathali:

A perfect start for celebrating Gatari before Shravan starts. These thali’s had some things in common i.e Crispy Prawns, Soft Rice Roti’s, Malvan Curry, Solkadhi. The prawns were crispy and had this spicy flavor that you could not resist having more. The Surmai and Bangda were served in the two thalis. The Surmai was marinated in ginger garlic paste and Malvani Spices. It was coated with Rawa and shallow fried hence it was crispy and crunchy from the outside but soft from the inside. Whereas The bangda fish was tasty and this medium-sized fish was enough for 1 person. The rice Rotis are the best option to go with seafood as they are soft and light to digest as well.

Overall this place was good for Sea Food Lovers. This is one of the best place where you can celebrate...
