Manashakti Ruchi Prayog Restaurant
Its Pure Vegetarian Restaurant
If you're a fan of authentic Maharashtrian food , Manashakti Ruchi Prayog Restaurant is an absolute gem! Nestled within the compound of the Manashakti Research Centre, this place offers a wide variety of delicious dishes that will leave you craving for more.
The menu includes Maharashtrian favorites like Vada Pav, Misal Pav, Sabudana Vada, Poha, Sabudana Khichdi, and Thalipeeth , all of which are freshly prepared and incredibly flavorful. They also serve South Indian dishes like Idli-Vada Sambhar, and you can even enjoy a wholesome Thali. While the focus is on Maharashtrian cuisine (which is exceptional), other items are decent but not as remarkable.
Affordability is another big plus here. With prices ranging from just ₹100 to ₹150 per person, this restaurant is a breath of fresh air, especially in Lonavala, where dining can often be overpriced.
The facilities here are well thought out. They have clean washroom facilities for both ladies and gents, and the restaurant is wheelchair-friendly , making it accessible for everyone. The security and staff are cooperative and friendly, adding to the overall experience and ensuring that you feel welcomed and comfortable.
Parking is available within the Manashakti Research Centre premises (subject to availability), or you can park along the roadside nearby. The staff is extremely cooperative, ensuring a pleasant dining experience.
The location is convenient for travelers:
On the Old Mumbai-Pune Highway, just 1km before Varsoli Toll Plaza (While travelling from Mumbai to Pune). If you’re on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, take the 2nd Lonavala exit (if traveling from Mumbai) or the 1st Lonavala exit (if traveling from Pune). It’s only about 500 meters from the Lonavala exit, making it a perfect pit stop. Operating from 7:30 AM to 7:00 PM , the restaurant serves fresh, hygienically prepared food. Cleanliness here is commendable, and most of the dishes are cooked fresh upon order.
They’ve also opened another restaurant (Branch), Ruchi Tarang by Manashakti, located 1.5 km away from this place, which is after Varsoli Toll Plaza. their too they offers the same food, quality and price, its two-story setting, but bigger place and very comfortable seating
Overall, this place is a must-visit for Maharashtrian food lovers. Whether we traveling from Mumbai to Pune or the other way around, we make it a point to stop here and enjoy the flavorful and reasonably priced food. It’s our go-to spot every time we’re on this route, and I highly recommend to visit this place...
Read moreThis eatery is an obscure little place on the old Pune Bombay highway just after Varsoli toll near Lonavala. When you reach you will only see the cream coloured entrance titled Manashakti. The security guided me to the parking which is limited and there are some residential structures in the compound. However he wasn’t able to guide me to the restaurant. I asked in the office and was led to a hall with steel chairs and tables. The restaurant is actually behind the research centre. There was a billing counter with a sign indication coupons. I guessed it right. This is a self service place. So I joined the queue to order. I had to wait for a few mins as the line wasn’t progressing. Finally I got a chance to place my order. You need to wait in queue to place the coupon on the order counter. There is a separate counter for tea and coffee. I ordered the misal, vada sambar and sheera. They gave me medu vada sambar even though i had ordered mix vada sambar. They don’t ask you whether you want the sambar dipped or not. They just give it separately. The vadas were crisp and tasty but you will not get the south Indian taste here. The sambar was too watery and sweet for my taste. The saving grace was the green chutney which had its flavours set right. Coming to the misal it was mildly flavoured with chanas in the gravy. The farsan was good. Overall the misal is okay if you are okay with a less spicy misal. The sheera was typical Maharashtrian style sheera which was sweet and had cashew and raisins. The sheera is not made in ghee here. I saw a number of people waiting for Sabudana vada and Thalipeeth. Some were saying it would take 20 more mins to make. I didn’t want to leave before trying their vada pav. So i got in the line again and waited for another 10 mins. I got my vada pav. It was cold and bland. The tea was also watery and manageable. Overall i think you should only try this if you have loads of time on your side and are ikay for average taste. The rates are...
Read moreI just visited this place due to some Youtuber reviews and other food blogs that mentions this place. Honestly they all didn't live up to my expectations. It's a good place to have good food but not a wow place to have wow food. Good parking facility. Washrooms are in bad condition worse than the toll plaza ones. We tasted Idli vada sambar, sabudana wada, thalipeeth, ukdiche modak, pooran poli and chai. Taste meter- Ukdiche Modak - Awesome 💯 Chai - Great, Sabudana Vada - Good. Pooran poli - Good just because of the ghee given. But can be skipped. The stuffing is less. Thalipeeth, Idli Vada - Good. Price meter - Costly. All items are atleast 15-20₹ pricier than they are worth except chai. I think being at a tourist place it seems that people disregard this fact for good food. The next time I would stopr here for: Chai for sure. Ukdiche modak only if I am on a craving. Can't afford my cravings to pay 40 bucks for a single piece of modak! My food reviews are based on the assumption that we eat out to skip the labour and time consumed in making those at home. So obviously they should match or exceed the hygiene, taste, quality and quantity that we would get when made at home. Else I would carry a tiffin if not...
