Raaga is a Thali and pure veg restaurant in Chinchwad. It is located on old Mumbai-Pune highway near Chinchwad station. They serve 'a la carte' on ground floor and Thali on the first floor. Food : In a-la-carte menu, they have south indian, maharashtrian, parathas, etc. Their USP is thali. They serve unlimited thali which is really good. We tried : 1. SURALI WADI : It's simply a Maharashtrian version of gujarati snack, Khandavi. It was made using gram flour, curd and some spices. It was rolled up and was garnished with grated coconut, coriander and a simple tempering. 2.KOTHIMBIR WADI [₹120] : It was too good. It was nicely shallow fried. Sesame seeds gave it a nice crunch. The chutney served along with it was also tasty. 3.PATWADI [₹120] : It was an innovative starter and something new to me. Our regular maharashtrian main course dish, Patwadi rassa was served as a starter. The 'patwadi' was nicely done and was really tasty. It was served with a thick curry which was spicy and had a prominent flavor of coconut. 4. TANDOORI MANCHURIAN : Again, it's something new. Manchurians were grilled in tandoor which gave it a nice smoky flavor. It was garnished with cheese and yummy salad. Overall it's a good dish. 5. RAWADI PANEER TIKKA : #Recommended. The flavours of this tikka were outstanding. The paneer was very luscious. It was perfectly marinated and cooked. In one bite you get a nice blast of different flavors. 6.THALI [Rs.315] : They serve unlimited thali which consists of 4 sabji, dal, chapati, bhakri, 2 types of rice and 2 sweets. In my opinion, its a pretty great deal. In the thali, I really liked sukki bhendi, dal-fry, gol-bhaji, dum biryani and amrakhand. Simple 'varan' had a nice layer of ghee on top which tasted good. 7.RAAGA SPL. VEG : This sabji had a combination of 2 sabjis, 1 in red gravy and the other with green gravy. The green gravy was palak paneer which was superb. The other one was mixed veg which we didn't like much. 8.PAHADI PANEER BIRYANI : As per the name, the masala of the green was green which was somewhat similar to hydrabadi biryani. It had big chunks of paneer. The rice was perfectly cooked. The biryani was served in a nice handi and was perfectly layered with fried onions on top. SWEETS : 1.UKADICHE MODAK [Rs.30] : Hands down to this dish. It is a typical maharashtrian delicasy which requires very good skills. The modak served were really good with a bowl of ghee. The filling was made of fresh coconut with jagery and sugar. It was perfectly balanced. 2.AMRAKHAND [Rs.80] : It was also really good. It was made in-house only. The seewtness was perfectly balanced 3.FRUIT SALAD WITH ICE-CREAM [Rs.130] : It was pretty good. The custard had a perfect amount of sugar. The fruits were fresh and ample in quantity. It was garnished with pomogrnates and a dollop of icecream. AMBIANCE : We sat on the first floor which is thali section. The lighting is simple yet good. The seatings are comfortable. Also the staff was good.

4.5* I was wanting to have some maharashtrian food and decided to try this place out . Visited this place a few days back . The place is beautiful the interiors are very well done and is very soothing . Ambience is good too . Perfect place for family get-togethers . Well coming to what i tried here *DRINKS* ❄ Aam Panha - A perfect tangy summer cooler to start with. Flavours were great and tantalizing to taste buds .Perfect rejuvenating drink . *STARTERS* ❄ Suralichi Wadi - Also called Khandvi or Patuli , Looked bright and revivifying . A gram flour roll up which tasted very light and great snack to start up with. Generous amount of it were served ❄ Kothimbirchi Wadi - Again a delicious savory crisp snack which is made from gram flour , coriander leaves and spices. Tried it for the first time and it dint suited my tastebuds . ❄ Tandoori Manchurian - Served with chutney and salad , these looked great but it were more on the harder side for me to bite also i felt a bit dry , although m not a fan of manchurian . This dish could be improved . ❄ Rawadi Paneer Tikka - Paneer is always a great appetizer and so was this dish . The paneer was perfect and soft served with sliced veggies and salad also chutney it was delectable to have this ❄ Pahadi Paneer Tikka - This tikka is packed with enticing flavours . Green chillies ,mint and coriander paste on it ensures a well balanced taste . Though i found paneer a bit dry it would be great if paneer could be more softer in this dish. *UNLIMITED THALI* 3 Types of Sabji - It had aloo sabji , veg mix sabji and green peas ki sabji . I loved the green peas one it was amazing and tasted delicious . Aloo and mix sabji tasted good too 3 types of Dal - Contained aamti , plain yellow daal , normal daal . I have tried aamti before so its one of my fav in maharahtrian cuisine. It would be great if they could serve aamti a bit more spicier . Daal was perfect and it tasted quite good . 2 types of Rice - White Rice and Pulao . Both of them perfectly cooked and tasted equally good Sweets - Gulab Jamun and Modak . So gulab jamun is almost everyones favourite , its not my fav but i have it . It was sweet and soft tasted good . I loved the modak which had filling of coconut tried it first time and now i m a fan of it . Others - Chapati , Kothimbirchi Wadi , Raita My Recommendations - Aam panha , Suralichi wadi ,Rawadi Paneer Tikka , Thali Should You Visit This Place - Definitely Yes , The food was great and the thali dishes had a homely feel too . Great experience 🙂

Raaga Thali & Pure Veg

Raaga Thali & Pure veg is located in main chowk of chinchwad and primiraly serves Maharashtrian cuisine along with some south Indian dishes. It belongs to the same owners who have a Veg & Non Veg restaurant operating in Nigdi under the name Raaga Multicuisine Restaurant. The décor of this place is impressive with warm lighting making it more pleasant. They have two seating options where ground floor reserved for A La Carte North Indian & South Indian Cuisines and the Upper Floor is dedicated for the Maharashtrian Thali. The seating is very comfortable.

We tried below mentioned dishes:-

Aam Panha: This was served to us as a welcome drink. It was good in taste

Starters:

Tandoori Manchurian: Finely chopped vegetables coated with chat masala were done in tandoor. The flour coating was thin. It was served along with mint green chutney and was good in taste. #Recommended

Suralichi Wadi: Suralichi Wadi a.k.a Khandvi is a popular snack dish in Maharashtra and is prepared using besan (gram flour). The one which I had at Raaga was truly delicious and was finished in no time. #Highlyrecommended

Kothimbir Wadi: The Kothimbir wadi was slightly crisp on the outside and was perfectly fried. It was not at all oily and was served hot.The green chutney served along with it was also delicious. #Highlyrecommended

Rawadi Paneer Kebab: The Paneer pieces were super soft and were marinated nicely. It literally melted in my mouth. It was medium spicy and slightly creamy. This dish did impress me a lot. #Highlyrecommended

Pahadi Paneer Kebab: This dish was a bit spicy and perfect for my palate. The Green chilly mint and curd based marination was superb in taste. It’s a must have for people who likea bit spicy food. #Highlyrecommended

Maharashtrian Thali: The menu for Maharashtrian Thali Keeps on changing every day for lunch and dinner as well. On our visit day we were served with Batata Bhaji(Dry), Katachi Amti, Mattar Usal (Green Peas Curry), Pithla, Phodniche Varan (Dal Fry), and Regular Dal. In Indian bread there was a option for Chapti and Bhakri, Gol Kanda Bhaji and Kothimbir Wadi, Rice – Plain Steam Rice and Veg Dum Biryani, Sweets/Desserts – Ukdiche Modak and Gulabjamuns. Extras were Koshimbir, Thecha/Groundnut Chutney, Papad, Pickle, Onions and Lemons. The thali was truly delicious and it gave a homely feeling. I was really impressed with the balanced flavours in the entire spread.

Anguri Cheese Masala: This dish was fully loaded with cheese and cream and was slightly sweet in taste. It was good in taste. #Highlyrecommended

Malwani Bhaji: The Traditional Malvani curry was prepared using mixed vegetables and Paneer. It didn’t impress me that, I felt that the vegetable were not able to blend along with the sour and spicy curry.

Jamun Ka Korma: The dish had deep fried gram flour based balls in thick and rich gravy. It was medium spicy in taste. The masala in gravy was nicely blended and was good in taste. #recommended

Bombay Biryani: It had long grain rice along with mixed vegetables prepared in a spicy masala. I was really surprised with this dish. It was full of flavours and nicely balanced. It was served along with raita which was also good. #Highlyrecommened

Desserts:

Shrikhand & Aamrakhand: In house prepared shrikhand and amrakhad was a treat to my taste buds. It was not too sweet. Ukdiche Modak: Modak were stuffed with coconut and jiggery based filling and were superb in taste.Fruit Custard with Vanilla Ice Cream: Fruit custard with vanilla icecream was superb in taste. The custard was not sweet and complimented the fresh fruits. All desserts which were served were superb and are highlyrecommended.

Overall: Service was prompt and restaurant was hygienic. Staff was polite and courteous. Raaga restaurant is a good option for people who are looking for pure veg food with multiple cusines served under one roof. The rates are pretty reasonable. The maharashtrian thali specially is a must have over here which had all the traditional dishes that are prepared in...

Food tasting invite from Raaga made us to pay a visit. Raaga's ambience was pleasant and welcoming. One floor is set for thanks and another is for ala carte offerings.

Kothimbir wadi - A preparation which can be part of meal or tea time snacks. Freshly fried pieces of Kothimbir wadi tasted great. The core part was also fried neatly and had balanced moist texture too. This is something that is gained after a lot of practice.

Suralichi wadi - One of the special Maharashtrian & Gujarathi receipe. It takes a lot of iterations to carve out this gem. Mixture of gram flour, coariander and tadka are the ingredients. Evenly spread gram flour on a surface then cutting & rolling it up with minimal breakage/wastage is an ordeal. Practice makes it possible, no doubt. It tasted lovely.

Tandoori Manchurian - I was curious to try Tandoori version of Manchurian. Outer surface was dry and sprinkled with masala. Inner portion was soft and moist as expected. It's a nice combination in veg section where tandoori variants are limited.

Rawdi Paneer Tikka - One of the best paneer starters I have had. The secret spice used for this dish will always attract me. Very well marinated supersoft paneer. Loved it.

Raaga Special Maharashtrian Thali - Thaali had typical Marathi recepies like Pithala, Maasvadi plus Bhendi fry. All receipes taste homely as spices used were mild and not overpowering taste. Chapati was served hot as required.

Raaga Special veg - It had 2 vegetables with red and green gravy. Mix veg was in red gravy and the green one was Palak Paneer. Both were good preparations.

Dal Makhni - Mild, flavorful daal was lovely. Went well with roti and rice too.

Paneer Biryani : Biryani served had nice portions of marinated paneer. Liked the fine lng grains of rice with desired quantity of masala.

Desserts -

Amrakhand : This was another surprise. It was a in house preparation. Presence of minute chunks of curd in amrakhand is a differentiator. It acts a a taste enhancer for me. Use of sugar was moderate. Usually amrakhand is made like a sugar bomb at most of the places I have visited. The ones with excess sugar get a glossy appearance.
