Mahabaleshwar, on Independence Day, proved to be an unforgettable experience, largely thanks to the incredible lunch I had at the Royal Lalbaug Restaurant. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was welcomed with warm hospitality and an ambiance that resonated with the rich culture of Maharashtra. The restaurant exudes an air of tradition and authenticity, the staff's overall hospitality and charm made me feel like I was embarking on a culinary journey through Maharashtra.

Now, let's talk about the food - the star of the show. The Maharashtrian cuisine served here was nothing short of spectacular. I began my feast with a plate of chicken dry with endless number of condiments, and my taste buds were immediately awakened by the explosion of flavors. The spiciness was just right, and the balance of textures and spices was just perfect which bound me to order another plate, myself and my friend made sure to wipe the plates clean with hot served chapati's. There were other food items but chicken dry was star wish we had more spaces in our stomach to try out more dishes.

Nestled on the main road between Mahabaleshwar and Panchgani, this charming eatery is a haven for those with a penchant for authentic non-vegetarian Maharashtrian cuisine. A recent visit with friends left us with delightful impressions.

The location is prime, with a simple yet tastefully decorated ambiance that adds to the overall charm. The staff, particularly the gentleman at the cashier counter, went out of their way to ensure our comfort, consistently checking in on both our experience and the food.

Opting for the chicken thali and prawns thali, we discovered that the dishes leaned towards the spicier side but were incredibly flavorful. The portion sizes were satisfying, and the pricing was reasonable. A notable highlight was the variety of chutneys provided, with special nods to the shengdana (peanuts) chutney and mirchi (chillis) thecha.

Not to be missed is the high-speed WiFi available at this place, making it not just a culinary delight but also a convenient spot for those who need to stay connected.

Quite old meat mixed in excessive red chilli powder+all sorts of masalas not meant for meat cooked in excessive oil with a weird smell served that led to diarrhea soon after consumption. We meat eaters know the difference between fresh meat and expired/unfit for consumption meat but this restaurant simply does not know unforgivably. Generally we expect small restaurants to provide heathly food when they take time to cook, but don't expect anything as such from this restaurant, they simply don't know how to cook. Visited this restaurant for the 2nd time as well thinking 1st time had probably gone wrong as we're all human and we do mistakes only to end up with the same experience as before and left eating slightly yet paying fully since "I placed the orders" and since "that's how they cook" as per them. A total waste of money. Strictly avoid and eat elswhere unless you want to stay limited to tea/biscuits and definitely not at all recommended for primary meal/maincourse. Last but not the least, don't fall for their "good behaviour", it's meaningless when the food is a disaster. 2ndly, I highly doubt about the positive reviews since positive reviews can be easily bought...
