I recently visited Dara's Dhaba and while the ambiance was undoubtedly cool and trendy, I must admit that I was disappointed with the overall dining experience, primarily due to the quality of the food. Let's start with the positives. The ambiance at Dara's Dhaba is undoubtedly appealing. The interior design is modern and stylish, creating a trendy atmosphere. The seating arrangements were comfortable, and the decor added a vibrant touch to the overall setting. It's definitely a place where you can hang out and enjoy a meal with friends. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to my expectations. I found the quality of the dishes to be underwhelming. The flavors were lacking depth, and some of the ingredients tasted stale or lacked freshness. The presentation of the food was appealing, but the taste did not match the visual appeal. I ordered a variety of dishes, including their recommended specialties, but none of them stood out as exceptional. The flavors were average at best and lacked the authentic taste I was hoping for. The portion sizes were decent, but that alone couldn't make up for the subpar taste. The service, however, was satisfactory. The staff members were friendly and attentive, making an effort to ensure a pleasant dining experience. They were knowledgeable about the menu and willing to offer recommendations. In conclusion, while Dara's Dhaba offers a cool and trendy ambiance, it falls short in terms of food quality. I hope they can improve the taste and freshness of their dishes to match the appealing atmosphere they have created.

Dara’s Dhaba is quite an old haunt. They serve good food to go with your choice of drinks. Although near Mumbai city it’s far enough from buzz of the city. Coming to what we ordered Khichiya Masala Papad - the papad served is fried and not roasted as one would expect, nonetheless it tastes pretty great for a lowly papad Chicken Tandoori - Another of their stellar offerings, definite must try. The chicken is roasted to perfection. Not too dry, with spices reaching the very core of the chicken, the marinade is a sure win Pomfret Tandoori - It’s good but not great. I felt it’s better to stick to their non fish offerings Prawn Tandoori - I felt the same way as I did for the Pomfret Cheese Garlic Naan - This is one thing that many places mess up, but they managed to do a decent job with it. Not much of cheese, but good kinda garlicky Veg Spring Rolls - Good taste, however their covers are pretty soft even though the rolls are piping hot Paneer Tikka - Again a hit with the tandoor. It’s great even if you don’t want to eat something heavy like chicken Chicken Biryani - it’s good old dhaba style biryani. To say the very least, it gets the job done Jalebi Rabdi - Although you need to buy them separately, it’s something that isn’t really their strong point can be avoided Gulab Jamun - Definitely try

Dara's dhaba is one of the places that has been famous for a very long time. I'm happy to say that it lived up to my expectations. One thing to note is that it is a bad idea to visit this place on weekends unless you want to wait for a couple of hours to get a table which is what happened to me. I will not give a bad review only because I had to wait for a long time. Now that this is out of the way lets talk about the restaurant. The ambience of this place is one to talk about, structures made of bamboo and dhaba seats with pillows make the experience even better. Dishes ordered: 1)Khichya masala papad: I have had masala papad at many places but this, in particular, I didn't like much. It's not bad but just feels like it is missing something. 2)Pahadi kabab: This was full of spice and so tasty that you will wanna have it again. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED 3)Mutton bhuna gosht along with butter naan and roti: The experience with this was also quite good similar to the kebab. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED 4)Matka mutton dum: it is a biryani that as the name suggests comes in a Matka. The biryani was well made and is a must-try in the biryani section. Drinks ordered: 1)Bacardi Breezer(cranberry) 2)Port wine My ratings: Food 4/5 Service 5/5 Ambience 5/5 Worth the buck? 4/5

A Memorable Dining Experience at Dara’s Dhaba, Mira Road

Nestled near Mira Road, Dara’s Dhaba has long been a favorite for those craving authentic North Indian cuisine served in a rustic yet charming setting. Recently, I had the pleasure of dining there for dinner, and the experience was nothing short of delightful.

Ambiance and Atmosphere

Dara’s Dhaba captures the essence of a traditional Punjabi dhaba but with a modern twist. The moment you step in, you’re greeted by a welcoming, vibrant vibe that perfectly balances the simplicity of a roadside eatery with the comforts of a fine-dining establishment. The outdoor seating area, adorned with fairy lights and cozy charpais (traditional cots), creates a laid-back environment that feels warm and inviting. Inside, the decor features Punjabi motifs, wooden accents, and colorful artwork, which add to the authenticity of the space.

Service

The service was prompt and efficient. The staff were courteous, knowledgeable about the menu, and made excellent recommendations based on our preferences. Despite the weekend rush, they ensured that all tables were attended to without any noticeable delays.

Food

Dara’s Dhaba is renowned for its rich North Indian flavors, and it truly lived up to its reputation. Here’s what we ordered:

Starters: We began with Tandoori Chicken and Paneer Tikka. The tandoori chicken was perfectly marinated with a smoky, charred flavor that was complemented by a tangy mint chutney. The paneer tikka was equally delicious, with soft, melt-in-your-mouth paneer cubes marinated in a flavorful blend of spices.

Main Course: For the main course, we opted for the Butter Chicken, Dal Makhani, and Garlic Naan. The butter chicken was the star of the evening, with its creamy, mildly spiced gravy and tender chicken pieces. The dal makhani had a rich, buttery texture that paired perfectly with the naan.

Rice and Biryani: We couldn’t resist trying their Chicken Biryani, which was aromatic and packed with spices. Each grain of rice was perfectly cooked, and the biryani was served with a side of raita that balanced the flavors beautifully.

Desserts: To finish, we ordered the Gulab Jamun and Rabri. The gulab jamun was warm and syrupy, while the rabri had the perfect sweetness and creamy consistency.

Value for Money

Dara’s Dhaba is reasonably priced given the quality of the food and the overall experience. Portions are generous, making it great for families or groups of friends.

Conclusion

Dara’s Dhaba offers a wholesome dining experience that combines great food, a vibrant ambiance, and excellent service. Whether you’re planning a family outing, a casual dinner with friends, or even a solo indulgence, this place won’t disappoint. It’s not just a meal but an experience that transports you to the heart of Punjab.

For anyone in or around Mira Road, Dara’s Dhaba is a must-visit for its authentic flavors and warm hospitality. I’ll certainly be returning to relive this...

I'm just on my way back from the worst experience ever at a restaurant, even a modest restaurant has got better service than this, cafes are better than these so called premium dining experience It all started with us waiting for a good 30-35 mins to give an order, I didn't know that we've got to check with the waiter if he has punched the order we gave him 30 mins ago. I guess it was our fault in not confirming if our order has been accepted while we wait at the table. We should've confirmed with the restaurant if they are willing to serve us. We should have apologized to the courteous staff for not reminding that we expect our dinner But then, we had an awakening and called for the manager who was not on floor (he was the one who took the order) and he was kind enough to laugh at us and tell us that because of less staff he forgot to punch in the order, he will get the order in the next 10-15 mins Guess what, he got the order in 15 mins A Wrong Order! We had placed an order for Methi Mutter Masala among other dishes, and We got Methi Mutter Malai We realised its the wrong dish since we've had Methi Mutter Masala in alot many restaurants and we know what's Methi Mutter Malai But the Manager sounded extremely (over) confident on the dish being correct and asked us to taste while he waited there for a confirmation from us, Methi Mutter Malai it was! And another staff member standing behind the Manager (who got the dish) said that he got Methi Mutter Malai since that was the order punched, instead of an apology we were asked to wait for another 15 mins to get the correct order We waited, we thought it was the most basic thing to do, get the correct order and there goes another one where they spilled the entire Dal all over the table here goes another 15 mins Finally we got to taste our food after 1:30 hours the one thing that we felt was alright, Veg Jalfrazie which had rotten Vegetables I was done with this wonderful restaurant I thought maybe it was I who was complaining a lot so I called the manager again, he said he will be back and no one came back to address the issue We called for the bill that's when we got our first glass of Mineral water that we had told them while we entered the restaurant Yes, that's the wonderful experience we had here today This might feel alot but this is what really happened here The Food = Pathetic Service = An Epic...

Dara's Dhaba Review

Dara's Dhaba is a delightful escape into the world of authentic Punjabi cuisine, where every meal feels like a celebration. From the moment you step in, you're greeted by an inviting ambiance that perfectly complements the rich flavors of the food.

Food: The star of the show at Dara's Dhaba is undoubtedly the food. The authenticity of the Punjabi dishes here is remarkable, with each dish offering a burst of traditional flavors that take you straight to the heart of Punjab. Whether it’s the buttery dal makhani, the rich paneer dishes, or the flavorful tandoori items, everything is cooked to perfection. The lassi, thick and creamy, is an absolute must-try, and the freshly made jalebi is the perfect sweet ending to a hearty meal.

Ambiance: The ambiance at Dara's Dhaba adds to the overall dining experience. The décor is charmingly rustic, reminiscent of a traditional Punjabi village, which enhances the authenticity of the meal. The setting is relaxed, making it an ideal spot for family gatherings or a leisurely meal with friends. Despite its popularity, the restaurant offers plenty of seating, so you’re likely to find a spot even during peak hours.

Seating and Service: The ample seating is a big plus at Dara's Dhaba, accommodating large groups with ease. The staff is courteous and attentive, ensuring that you have everything you need to enjoy your meal. Even during busy times, the service remains efficient, contributing to a pleasant dining experience.

Highlights: Special mention goes to their lassi and jalebi, both of which are absolute crowd-pleasers. The lassi is perfectly balanced, not too sweet, and wonderfully refreshing. The jalebi is crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and served piping hot, making it impossible to resist.

Overall: Dara's Dhaba is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Punjabi food in a fantastic setting. With its awesome ambiance, plentiful seating, and standout dishes like lassi and jalebi, it’s a place that leaves you with a full stomach and a happy heart. Highly recommended for a truly satisfying...
