01 March 2020 - 14.30 hours "Absolutely Amazing Barbecues Experience"
Absolute Barbecues has gained a lot of attention in a short span due to its innovation Non-veg varieties like Duck, Rabbit, Octopus, Shark, etc. Nonetheless, Absolute Barbecues serves equally amazing veg too. Located in Powai and not even a year old is a great advantage because it has entered after studying the market and bring this amazing buffet experience at a low cost. Buffet ranges from Rs.599/- to Rs.825/- plus taxes and mocktails too are inexpensive.
Drinks/Beverages
We ordered a couple of mocktails which is not included in the Buffet. In other words, you must pay extra for that. The one we loved the most is the KIWI mocktail and the other one is STRAWBERRY Mocktail. These are not in the Menu. The Kiwi based mocktail is more like a Jeera masala soda with Kiwi flavor. It was better than the Strawberry mocktail.
We also ordered FRESH LIME SODA - This is again, a classic mocktail which you can't go wrong with. It was beautiful in appearance and in taste too. At Absolute Barbecues they celebrate guests' birthdays and anniversary by coming over to their table with a portable Bluetooth speaker. They play the relevant songs and sing along and clap to make the guests' feel better about the occasion.
Food
Starters
They have different starters are main course each day, not like all different but some. They rotate options such that when you visit it the next time, you won't feel like having the same items again.
AMERICAN CHEESY POTATO - These were small sized potatoes with cheesy sauce wrapped around it. Potato skin tasted amazing in this starter. The sauce was tasty too.
CRISPY CORN - These were small sweet corn fried and made crispy in the process. We loved the crispiness and felt the absence of alcohol with it. If you know what I mean.
Live Counter
We had a small portion of white sauce PASTA which was prepared in less than a couple of minutes. We requested to add chilly flakes too. This pasta lacked taste. It could have been better we felt. Appearance wise it was good.
We tried chat too. We had one piece of each PANI PURI and SEV PURI. Pani puri was goooooood with perfect sized puris and the chutney and filling had a perfect street food taste. Sev puri was not bad, just the puri could have been a little thinner or may be filling over it should be more.
Main Course
METHI MUTTER MALAI - I can say one of the best dishes here was this. That cheesy thick malai like taste along with perfectly boiled green peas was just lip smacking. you should try it with Butter naan. A must try
BIRYANI - This was most promising out of all but the previous dish stole the show in main course, however it was great too. It can best be described as "As Expected". A perfect Biryani taste with nothing to complain
Desserts
We had a lot of desserts here, almost all. I will talk about a few here.
PAAN ICE-CREAM - This is the father of all desserts here. Here the vanilla ice-cream is mixed with Paan flavor and a lot of other ingredients along with Gulkand, Coconut powder and dry fruit pieces. It is crispy, it is smooth and it is flavor some. This is highly recommended.
RED HOT CHILLI ICE-CREAM ROLL - I have had paan flavored ice-creams before but never tried this one. It is a mixture of Strawberry flavor with actual chilly flakes. This is made on a live ice-cream counter. Mine became a little spicy because of too many chilly flakes.

Read moreAbsolute Barbeque – Be ready to feed your soul With its absolute success across many cities of India, absolute barbeque has opened its doors to our fellow Mumbaikars to explore and relish grilled chicken, fish, prawns and veggies. A special mention to their wish grill section which we l loved the most. So meat lovers you can go for rabbit, octopus, emu, quail, squid, duck…pick a sauce of your choice and it is prepared in front of you yes live and let the cook does wonders. Also for the vegetarians they have olives, zucchini, tofu, baby corn and mushroom. I would recommend to book your slots at the start of week since the prices are quite reasonable. They also accept corporate bookings, birthday parties and family celebrations. I had a word of mouth with their manager and he was super excited as their chain is going to expand across rest of the cities in India. Also in Mumbai apart from Powai they will be targeting to mark their presence in other prime locations. I see a stiff competition to other barbeque restaurants having buffet system & yes I have covered a short clip of the restaurant which I’ll soon post on my Instagram page so do check out. Without a further ado lets dig into what all we had last evening.

At first I was wondering since in excitement I have picked few of them…wondering how would they taste?? Sold out by their taste as they were tender and juicy and being tossed in different sauces aaaah paisa vasool…I missed to try the octopus though ummm next time for sure.
We skipped the mains and directly attacked the dessert counter as they were drooling and tempting calling us asap. But yes within the mains there is much to try for if you wish to.

Ambience – Place is hugeeee…we can easily accommodate around 40 – 50 people enjoying delicious barbeque cuisines. Do book your tables in advance so that you do miss your spot. Place is vibrantly lit and seating is quite comfortable right from couples to large group of people. Every seating section has been given a different colour quite a good thought. If you are here and there is something special like birthday, anniversary then ABs got you covered with a portal speaker moving across the floor and banners ready at the back of you all set to celebrate your big day. Also I did notice the mens behind the scene (kitchen) where fuming hot flames and grilling of the barbeque cuisine is getting ready.
Service – Bang on Service ABs provided to you and your fellow family/friends. Staff is well acknowledged with the recipes and they are quick and impeccable. Manager of ABs Mr. Supriyo greeted us with a warm welcome and also got us with the choice of seat we wished for. Our attendants Mr. Vicky & Manoj took amazing care of whatever we called for. Hats off Boys!! Great Job…

Hogged on the food galore at Absolute Barbecue for the first time on 07 Jan 2022. I must appreciate the vast spread that they offer to the foodies who come here to satiate their hunger. It was a great experience. One indeed needs to visit here with a humungous appetite, else you won't be able to do justice to the variety of dishes laid out here. If I have to describe every dish forming part of the buffet, the review might just turn into a thesis. Hence, I will try to summarise the dishes I had here. We tried the Nonveg buffet & details are given below :-
Starters : Forgive me if I don't give the exact nomenclature of the starters.
On the skewers there were Prawns, Chicken & Fish. These were nice & tender & flavourful.
In addition there was Mutton Seekh Kebab & Tandoori Drumsticks. Mutton Seekh Kebab was just about average in taste. Taste of minced mutton wasn't very prominent. Tandoori Drumsticks were prepared perfectly with the right marination which one could taste in the interiors of flesh as well.
The highlight was the Live Counter where you can try the exclusive meats including Quail, Duck, Bunny, Shark & Squids which are dry preparations. You can give it a try incase you are a bit enterprising & like to experiment. The masala used in preparation of these meats was more or less the same. It was the taste of meat that was making the difference. You can give it a shot. It was nice & unique.
We tried some of the veggie starters including Crispy Corn, Cajun Potatoes, Paneer Tikka, Barbecue Pineapples & Watermelon. The veggies starters were equally delicious. Really liked these.
Then there were other stations as well including Veg Pizza, Golgappe, Chaat & Veg Pasta.
Main Course : In main course, again the list of dishes was pretty exhaustive.
There was Bhuna Mutton Curry. The mutton was tender, however, the flavour was just ok. Nothing earth shaking about it.
Chilli Chicken was medium spicy & was a gravy preparation. Nice & tender chunks of chicken decently prepared in the right sauces. Tasty indeed.
Srilankan Fish had the south indian flavour to it. It was extremely flavourful. Goes well with Plain Rice. Must try.
Chicken Fried Rice was also tasty, prepared with mixed veggies & shredded chicken. Nice subtle taste.
There was Murg Methi as well which I didn't try as I was stuffed to the brim.
There was Chicken Dum Biryani as well which I couldn't try again.
I also tried the Veg Thai Curry was delicious & went perfect with plain rice. Immensely flavourful. The taste of lemon grass was very prominent. Plenty of veg options as well in main course which you all can try.
There was a salad Counter as well with variety of salads to choose from.
Dessert : Options in Dessert were limited, however, they were nice.
There were Cut Fruits nicely decorated in a bowl.
Shahi Firni was nice & sugar taste was just the right amount.
Jalebis are a must try. These were thin & crunchy. Delicious.
Gulab Jamuns were of small size & prepared well.
Indrani dessert was there, which had these small sized Rasgullas dipped in a thin consistency of milky texture. Its something like a rasmalai available in West Bengal, but the taste is nowhere even close to the Bengal's sweet. Nothing to boast about Indrani dessert.
Fruit Cake was just about average in taste.
They also had two flavours of Icecreams including Vanilla, Strawberry & Paan. Paan flavoured Icecream was lip smacking, & taste of Pan was pretty evident. A must try.
A Live Station of Stoned Icecream was also available, wherein they served Red Chilli Flavoured Icecream. The taste was unique. It was sweet & fiery. Must try.
Overall a wonderful experience with the food here. Only sour points were the uncleaned toilets which smelled horrible.
Hope the review...
