Baithack — Restaurant in Mumbai

I visited Baithack in Mulund East a while ago and had a rather disappointing experience. I ordered an elaichi chai, which turned out to be a below-average machine pre-mix that tasted like something you'd find in a corporate vending machine.

Shortly after, I asked the owner at the reception for the Wi-Fi password. To my surprise, just 3-5 minutes later, the owner approached my table and asked if I wanted to order anything else. It felt quite intrusive, as I hadn't even had a chance to settle in and enjoy the space. The owner further commented on how long I planned to sit with just a single order of a 60 rupee elaichi chai.

For a place that's not even a month or two old, it's essential to build a relationship with your customers first. Delivering top-notch taste and creating a welcoming atmosphere should be the priority before worrying about customers sitting too long. Unfortunately, Baithack falls short on both counts. One of the worst experiences I’ve had at a cafe. We ordered two hot coffees without sugar, and to our shock, we were charged ₹40 extra per cup, making it ₹120 for two instead of ₹80. When we asked why, they gave a ridiculous excuse—that normal coffee is made in bulk, but sugar-free coffee requires a fresh batch. This is absurd! Every cup of coffee should be freshly made, and charging extra just for skipping sugar is nothing but a scam.

To make matters worse, the sandwich we ordered was extremely spicy, overpriced, and nowhere near worth it. The total bill for just three items was ₹370, which was completely unjustified. When we tried to address the issue, the staff was dismissive and refused to accept their mistake.

This place is a complete rip-off, with poor service, absurd pricing policies, and below-average food. Wouldn’t recommend it to anyone! Stay away if you don’t want to waste your money.

Its really not about the money im ready to pay but i need the quality and the logic...

STAY AWAY! Absolutely no go kinda place. The food is OK-ish, not at all value for money. I can chug it if the money is being asked for ambiance but to my horror the AC was kept off in a scorching heat of 36°C hot evening.

I had ordered pizza & walnut frappe. Top of the line pizza just had paneer & 3-4 capcicum on it that's all & walnut frappe had no walnut flavour in it. Instead they handed over the coffee flavour frappe. Upon raising the same with the counter lady, she replaced it with absolute displeasure. Such people still exist in the service industry in today's world?

The frappe was pathetic! Just the milk and some cheap flavour that's all.

Pizza & Frappe just the 2 items costed 460 bucks. Not even a penny is justified here.

Also, the invoice was not handed but she didn't fail to ask for money at the time of order itself. All in all a hopeless place....
