Current Affairs at Vikhroli — Restaurant in Mumbai

Great food, great music but highly disappointing staff and service. Very slow service. We had to ask them for every dish we ordered more than twice. We had gone to celebrate a farewell on a weekday. Most tables were empty, and since the music was good, we danced around a bit near our table only without inconveniencing anyone around us. Another big office group arrived, and we were told the manager of that office group was there with them so we can't dance now (didn't understand the logic). They were only focusing on that big group. After some time that group started dancing and they were allowed to do so, when we asked why this partiality, they said that their manager had left so they were free to dance. After some time a guy from that group came to us and asked us for permission for their team to dance around. We said we were perfectly fine with them dancing, we were just not okay with the partiality wherein we were asked not to dance. That guy said that the manager of the pub told them that we had asked them to stop dancing (we had not). Both groups confronted the manager so he gave in and let us all dance. But then reduced the volume to deter us from doing so. Later he says that after 11 pm in the night they can't play loud music as there is an office upstairs which starts around that time and they are not allowed to play music after that. After we got the bill, we saw that they had added service charge to it. We asked them to remove the service charge as it was optional and we were not happy with the service. They removed it politely, however they asked us for our details like our name, phone number and office location as they had to show it to their manager that we had requested them to remove the service charge and that they had not removed it of their own accord. Current affair is the rising star on the Vikhroli Parksite-Powai Link Road. It is located on the first floor above Pop Tate’s and is an ideal place for fine dining in the area. They offer Indian, Continental, Pizzas and beverages. Their menu is devised to suit everyone’s taste buds. We tried: ♦️Strawberry Mint Sparkle: Fresh mint & strawberry juices were mixed with lemonade. It was a perfect drink.

♦️The Trend: 🥕 Carrot, apple juices were mixed with ginger and lemon. It was amazingly refreshing.

♦️Buffalo Chicken Pizza: Grilled chicken pieces were served on the thin crust pizza base with onion, parsley and lot of cheese. It was cheesy, chewy, moist, slightly acid and sharp.

♦️Alfredo Pasta: Classic Creamy pasta was tossed in a rich alfredo sauce with chicken. The pasta was golden, creamy thick and silky.

♦️Slow Cooked Roast Chicken: Full Chicken leg was cooked to perfection keeping it extremely soft, pinkish, translucent and fleshy. We loved it.

♦️Dal Makhani and Butter Chicken: It was a combo meal with rice and malabari parathas. It was filling. Dal makhani was creamy and the spices were screaming out. Boneless chicken chunks were simmered in spicy aromatic buttery and creamy gravy. It was lip smacking. Overall it was a great combination with paratha and rice.

We were greeted by Mr. Sudarshan/ Mr. Pawaskar & served by Mr. Govind. Overall, the staff is polite, courteous and the services are quick. The food served is of top quality, fresh and delicious. A good place to be in with your family...

Our recent dining experience at Current Affairs in Vikhroli West was nothing short of exceptional. From the vibrant ambiance to the delectable cuisine, every aspect of our visit left a lasting impression.

To kick off the evening, we indulged in the Passionate Love and Tequila Sunrise cocktails, which were expertly crafted and bursting with flavor. These refreshing concoctions set the perfect tone for the culinary adventure ahead.

Moving on to the starters, the Chicken Noistter and Whole Pomfret were absolute delights. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and tender, while the pomfret was cooked to perfection, offering a delightful combination of textures and flavors.

For the main course, we savored the Prawn Biryani Classic and Chicken Thai Curry Green. Both dishes were executed with finesse, showcasing the chef's expertise and attention to detail. The prawns in the biryani were succulent, and the aromatic blend of spices transported us to culinary bliss. Meanwhile, the chicken Thai curry boasted a harmonious blend of fragrant herbs and spices, leaving us craving for more.

To conclude our meal on a sweet note, we indulged in the Swedish Strawberry Cake, which was the perfect ending to our gastronomic journey. Each bite was a symphony of flavors, leaving us completely satisfied.
