An exuberant gastropub tucked inside R City mall, 'Hitchki' features a resplendent decor boasting a prodigious bar and a plush set-up in the dining area. It is one of the top-notch spots owing to it's convival, welcoming atmosphere. Characterized by it's stockpile of exquisite meals from multiple cuisines and an unblemished customer service, it's a reservoir of excellence and a quintessence of first-rate gastropubs.
The menu is diverse, ranging from the awe-inspiring Modern Indian cuisine to an extensive selection of specialities from International cuisines. Although the Indian dishes are hybridized with a contemporary twist, they still retain an aura of ethnic origins bursting with tradional flavours. A peculiar characteristic that makes the menu so special and different is the naming convention used. The dishes are named in accordance with Bollywood references, both vintage and present-day.
Appetizers Starting from small bar nibbles and going to the extreme ends of the International food palate, there are loads of options. Especially, if you're drinking, there is a plethora of delicious appetizers to choose from. The portion sizes are pretty generous. A lot of options are a fusion of two or more cuisines, so the dining maneuver is of culinary grandeur. 'Bhut Jolokia Wings & Rings' : Having ghost pepper as an important ingredient certainly gives this dish a gastronomic leverage and popularity among fans of spicy food. They're not as spicy as expected but have an excellent taste. Served with Onion rings fried to crisp and bhut jolokia sauce, this is one of the best selling dishes over here. These wings go really well with the drinks. 'Skewer Ke Bacchon - Tera Kya Hoga Schezwan + Chicken Skewer' : These are chicken skewers glazed with schezwan sauce. The dish is moderately spicy with a pleasing feel making it a perfect appetizer to be had with the drinks. They're served with a side of spicy peanut sauce, chili garlic and wasabi mayo. The sauces totally enhances the flavour of the skewers, giving them a satisfying piquancy but honestly they taste better without them. 'Zhingat Tacos' : A fairly simpler dish in terms of gastronomic complexity, this delish is a merger of the Japanese delicacy Tempura prawns served in the most famous Mexican Taco shells with the goodness of salsa, guacamole and smoky BBQ mayo. The prawns were absolutely delectable and with the flavours of all the sauces combined, it is one of the best dishes I've had over here. 'Teriyaki Dim Some' : This is the only pure oriental dish we ordered. With the stuffing of teriyaki chicken served with a side of tangy mustard, sweet hoisin and spicy peanut sauce, these dimsums tasted pretty good. From the other steamed delicacies that they serve here, "Thalaiva" is highly recommended by the staff.
Main Course Like starters, the main course options too are diverse. A significant number of dishes are fusion based treats full of innovation and are rich in flavour. 'Sicky Pork Ribs' : Pork Ribs glazed with Korean BBQ sauce and sesame served with stcky rice and grilled veggies (broccoli, mushrooms, zucchini, carrots and baby corn). The ribs are juicy and taste like heaven. They have this superior enticing flavour which makes the dish one the best options in main course. If you're a pork lover, you must order this without fail.
Desserts At Hitchki, they serve a range of pretty desserts, Indian and International. 'Banofee Bomb' : Caramelized banana slices, pecan nut, banana cake and ice cream covered with a chocolate coat festooned together and glazed with hot salted caramel is every dessert lover's dream come true. It is rightfully one of the highly reccomended dishes by the staff and ther other customers who frequently dine here. 'Baratiyon Ka Swagat' : This elegant sweet treat is basically Dutch truffle served with Pan Pasand, Candy Floss and Hazelnut. Certainly one of the best desserts I've had in a long time. "Bas Kar Pagle Rulayega Kya" is one of the best desserts in the section, it is very filling and...
Read moreHitchki proudly stands tall with its innovative fusion food & drinks, and equally fancy desi names for it. Located in R City Mall, and surrounded by heavy competition, this place has created its niche by offering delectable bites and sips along with a great ambiance complemented by amazing music which isn't too loud. The area seems to house around 50 at a time and the service is top-notch(was especially impressed by the service of Rohitdas). As soon as you open the menu, your attention will be caught by the funny names which are, kind of, catchy if you know the Bollywood basics.
Here's how I experienced a Hitchki -
Mocktails -
I started with a SECRET as I was starving and was enthralled to see the drink. Two eclairs clipped with the drink looked fascinating. It was a wonderful shake that had a subtle banana taste to it. The vanilla pods ensured a smooth vanilla flavor to it as well. The Boost powder had a strong taste, and it was a fulfilling drink overall.
The MINIONS is a classic drink with a sweet and sour blend of watermelon and guava. The watermelon had a strong presence while the guava flavor was subtle. The consistency was nice and the sourness was subtle as well.
DIL MAANGE MORE was a unique combination of mango panha-red chilies and was served with a mango papad. The chilies were suspended over toothpicks and the mango panha was a bit thick and the hotness of the chilies was subtle and low. So, the hotness won't really create a problem if you are conscious about it.
The HE-MAN was a beautiful red bull drink that had orange juice along with peach syrup in it. The grenadine lied at the bottom of the drink and added a layer and tartness to it. Go for it if you are a red-bull ardent.
Appetizers -
I tried the TIGER JHINGA HAI which was served along with cold smoke and it looked beautiful upon its arrival. The prawns were cut in small pieces but were mouthful and were fried in tempura batter. It had a little sourness to it and the prawns were beautifully cooked.
The CHARLIE CHAPLI KEBAB reminded me of all the good things in the world. The kebabs were beautifully cooked and the minced lamb was so good and was a little hot. It was served along with chips which soon got soggy. However, the thecha mayo combination was a winner all the way and elevated the kebab flavor to a different level.
Mains -
Having grown up in Nagpur, I had to order the SAVJI MUTTON. It was served along with NAAN and boneless meat was served which was a delight to eat. However, the curry wasn't up to the mark and it was milder than the original version and even the flavor wasn't up to the mark. But, overall, it was a decent curry but not savji.

Mr. INDIA is one of the fanciest dishes I have ever seen. It was served in a really beautiful china bowl. It had a hard gelatine dome under which the gajar halwa was served in between ghewar sandwiches and had motichoor icecream in it. It was too sweet and the pistas added some crunch to it. Ghewar was delicious and the combination was amazing.
Overall, I think I have found a great bar that is serving at reasonable prices but ensuring superior service and FnBs.
The ambiance and the music are great add-ons and this bar will definitely give me hitchkis because of the beautiful...
