I ordered cheese and corn pizza and 2 cheese corn parathas on the app at 7.44 pm yesterday which was to be delivered from their Dahisar East store. At the time of placing the order, the app showed 45 minutes for delivery and a comment No Time Guarantee. After 30 minutes when I checked the status, it was still showing 25 minutes and a message that there is a slight delay due to heavy demand. I waited till 8.50 pm at which time the app was still showing 13 minutes. When I called the customer care number, the person first tried to help me out by stating that he will contact the store to find current status. Then he told me that the store is unable to take calls and asked me to wait for my order which would be delivered in another 45 to 60 minutes, so effectively nearly 2 hours for a delivery of 3 items. He further added that my order clearly mentions No Time Guarantee so he cannot give a specific timeline for delivery. When I asked to speak to some senior person in customer care, no person was willing to come online as apparently they were too 'busy' and he would arrange a call in 10 minutes. When asked what if I do not receive call back, I was told that I should again call customer care. (For the entire duration of the call, the app continued showing 13 minutes).
It appears that customer care centre is not keen to resolve customer issues which reflects badly on Domino's brand. Suggest that there should be some dedicated line through which customer care should be able to reach out to the concerned store (not through normal landline). Secondly, senior customer care executives should be available to address such matters rather than leaving it to the junior executives who are generally given standard responses to be provided. Another suggestion is have some mechanism to identify capacity of each store and stop taking online orders well in time to ensure timely customer delivery. It was last 3 times when I ordered my pizza, I had a pathetic experience. 1st time, pizza was delivered after 4 hours for which they did not give us any refund back which was assured by them. 2nd time, when I ordered, It was bhai dhuj day. In that pizza, there was no cheese at all. Third time I ordered 2 pizza, but they gave me 1 wrong pizza which had paneer. I called them up and complained about it as it was a paneer pizza and I dont eat paneer pizza. They neither replaced my pizza nor refunded my amount. Furthermore, when the store finally did pick up the phone after 30-45 minutes of trying, I was met with a lack of professionalism and courtesy from the staff member I spoke to. The online app also showed that there was no active order, adding to my frustration.
