Kokan Swad - Bhandup — Restaurant in Mumbai

Konkan swad a over all cozy place!! . I have been here twice and I am giving my review based on that. Ambiance - 2* descent seating but there was clutter under the table and near the side board in the dinning space. Brass Lotas a good idea but you need a nicer and neater way to keep it. Please, do some thing about the water and drinks bottles lying under the tables. Hand wash basin was not maintained. Tissues and pedal bins would be a good idea to have at least. Two stars for the nice costal Konkan poster and LOVE THE TIRUPATI BALAJI IDOL. Also, I would suggest some nice marati instrumental or some costal music in the background. Service - 4* I can understand may be due to post COVID-19 challenge but there was just one Steward on the floor today. He was a humble guy he looked drained , I spoke him on my tandoori chicken. FOOD - 3.5* This time I ordered a combination of Tandoor and fish.. I do see that they are a malvan fish restaurant but if U have a certain item on the menu then it should be equally good. Effort need to be seen, I am saying this as I was disappointed by the tandoori chicken it was bland, under seasoned and over cooked with no accompaniments other than a chutney in a tiny bowl and some common garnish salad for fish and Tandoor . But, as expected from this restaurant fish dihses were nice and solcudy loved it absolutely.

Pricing - 3.5* menu pricing needs to be relooked at.Also, GST is 5% prices can be including the same.

Bottom line is cosy place with just above average food...

Disappointing Experience with a Serious Hygiene Issue

I recently visited kokan swad with friends, and I must say that our experience was utterly disappointing due to a serious hygiene issue. We ordered paneer biryani, and to our horror, we found a fly in one of the dishes.

When we reported this to the hotel manager, his reaction was shockingly casual and dismissive. He explained that since they also serve non-vegetarian items, it's common for flies from the chicken to fall into the dishes. Such a response is unacceptable and shows a complete disregard for basic hygiene and customer safety.

A restaurant should maintain high cleanliness standards, especially when handling both vegetarian and non-vegetarian foods. This incident raises concerns about the overall sanitation of the kitchen and the care taken in food preparation.

We expected a better response and immediate corrective actions, but instead, we were met with indifference. I strongly advise anyone considering dining here to think twice about the hygiene standards and the management's lack of concern for customer feedback.

Kokan Swad is a wonderful fish food place! Value for money always. Courteous owner and staff. Ever ready to guide and prepare dishes to suit your taste. What you will notice first when you enter their restaurent is dazzled copper. glasses used to serve water. May it be quality of chicken or fish, they always have it fresh. Fish food is awesome here, however if you are a chicken lover, do try Chicken Thaki & Kombdi Wada😋. They are also available on Swiggy/Zomato for home delivery.

Pre-book this place on weekends to avoid queue. Best way to spend your weekend this place is by watching a movie on 3rd floor and while returning hop in to taste delicious malvani food in Kokan Swad with their refreshing Sol kadhi. ❤️
