Leaping Windows — Restaurant in Mumbai

background story * 'Stacks and Racks in Malad has HANDS DOWN the best Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich and every since going there in November I've been on a little hunt in every place I go to have something that was as good as theirs, bringing me to Leaping Windows'

So I saw that Leaping Windows does a Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich too... and I've been seeing a lot of good reviews about them. So naturally my first instinct was to order the same.. and Oh Boy.!! A bad choice indeed... Like the worst actually... It was so dry and had this wired after taste from the pickles, the description about it in the menu said it had 'mushroom duxelle and cream cheese' I think they forgot to add both of these. Basically just some Grilled Buffalo Slices and some pickle. So that was the bad part...

But here's the silver lining to it all... The Heartstopper and the Big Bad Buffalo Burger were really good....The Heartstopper was the showstopper... I'm still thing about those Bacon Wrapped Pork Sausages as I write this review.

We also ordered the Masala Cola and the Hazelnut Cold Coffee, both of which were very good... If I do go back there again... Will definitely order the Heartstopper and try the Vietnamese...

Great spot for hanging out or dates. Three levels indoors with the room being at the lowest level being filled with comic books. They got outside areas as well.

I loved their selection of coffees, drinks, desserts and food. They offer quite some unique selections like Madrasi Capuccino which I had never seen anywhere else before. I really enjoyed all the items I got and the price is cheaper than the other cafe shops you will find in the region.

I wouldn't say this place is work friendly though (I looked up work friendly cafes in Mumbai and the website suggested me this spot). They do offer WiFi and they do let you work but I just kept feeling pressured here to keep buying or leave. The staff would just bring you the menu rather than asking if I need something else which kinda rubbed me the wrong way. Obviously this is a business and I totally understand that business should discourage people from sitting too long to make room for other customers but I was here on a Tuesday afternoon and there were so many vacant seats... If it was a packed day, I totally would understand.

Still giving them five stars though just for the vibe and selections and I will still be back- just not for...

On a cool Thursday evening we wanted to eat some American comfort food 🥘 So we headed for leaping windows a very popular place around versova, it was a bit difficult to find this place as it is hidden amongst the concrete jungle of versova near the beach. Coming to the food we had ordered BBQ chicken wings 🍗 and cajun chicken burger 🍔 The chicken were properly cooked and amazing flavors but the burger was a big disappointment the bun was stale n the chicken too was very dry and bland n flavorless. After that we ordered the fig n walnut parcel and hazelnut strawberry pie both of the dishes were not up to the mark being very rustic flavours of the fig walnut strawberry and hazelnuts the pastry used was very hard n not cooked properly and a lot of icing sugar put on them so it was kind of too sweet at the first bite This place also had a little attached library 📚 to it they charged 50 rupees for an hour and they have some super cool limited edition copies of few books and awesome interiors to sit don relax enjoy your meal with a few books to read.
