The Acres Club located at Hemu Kalani marg, Chembur is a member's only club that houses many typical facilities like wedding halls, auditorium, lodging, gym, swimming pool, cafeteria, pub and restaurant, large lawns for outdoor activities. The club was founded in 2000 and over the decades it's been developed and maintained well. Out of the rest of the clubs in and around Chembur, I feel the Acres Club is the most value for your bucks considering the modern amenities and well maintained premises. I genuinely feel the much reputed Chembur Gymkhana is quiet dated and overrated. The pub and the fine dining located on the first floor serves drinks and your typical Indian, oriental cuisine. Priced moderately, the quality of food is quiet good though not consistent enough. Service is ok and during the current pandemic situation raging everywhere, the management is taking precautions as per government rules. However not much social distancing is seen in the dining area. Staffs in the restaurant as well as in the club premises are adhering to wearing masks and sanitizer booths are located in around the area. Acres Club’s Games zone was my regular hangout. They have bowling lanes, pool tables and video games. The staff is pretty friendly and they have a small cafeteria where you can eat.

We went there on a Saturday afternoon, there was not much rush. First, we straight went for bowling because then it would be crowded which was a great fun. The lanes are nice with apt length and breadth and the scoreboard that can be viewed by everyone. Then there’s ice hockey, the board was so soft and it was great playing. There are a few other games downstairs and we played almost all.
