So we went to this restaurant, and we were four people—me, my sister, and my parents. We ordered three sadya thalis, which are unlimited thalis and were enough for the four of us, and one drink. Before that, the guy asked if we had any booking. I said no. Then I checked Zomato District, which offered 30% off for this restaurant, so I informed the server girl who took our orders that I was making a reservation on Zomato District, and she said okay. So I paid 100 rupees and booked.
Then when the thalis came, I told the guy who asked if we had made any reservation that I just did. He said it wouldn’t be applicable on our order since these thalis are unlimited. I told him I had informed the other girl before booking, and she said it’s okay. He said she is new. I said I already paid and booked. He said then cancel it (Zomato booking is non-refundable).
And then the thalis came, and we started eating. My sister started eating from my mother’s thali. Then that waiter girl came and said, “You can’t share a thali.” (My sister and I have visited this restaurant multiple times and have shared a single thali every time we went.) We ordered appam and Malabar curry for her, which they didn’t serve for another 45 minutes. A server came with extra appam instead, which we didn’t ask for, so I thought he misunderstood my previous order to be extra appam and curry (since thalis are unlimited), so I didn’t say anything. We continued eating our food, finished it, washed our hands, and asked for the bill. The girl came with appam and stew. I said we don’t want it and they can cancel it (I didn’t even touch it; the server was carrying it the whole time). We were about to leave, and they said we can’t cancel it. They asked if they could parcel it. I said no. They said it will go to waste. I said, why can’t they serve it to other people? I didn’t want to make a scene in front of my parents—they visit once a year—so I told them they can add it to the bill if they want, but we want to leave. And they did add it to my bill!!!!
While having food, my mom had to wait for rice for nearly 20 minutes in between her dinner, which we asked three different servers for every 5–10 minutes.
Papadam was more of a chapati (check video shared) , disappointed in every aspect.
I rarely write a negative review, but this was unexpected and unacceptable . i had...

Read moreWe visited the restaurant for lunch after seeing it on Instagram. The food was good, but we found it slightly overpriced. The vada seemed to have been reheated. We ordered the chilly barota — while it didn't taste exactly like the original version, it was still quite nice. However, a side of raita would have made it feel more traditional and complete. Overall, it was a decent experience.
Later in the evening, we returned since we were in Vashi for some work. This time, we ordered the upma, but unfortunately, it had gone stale and was simply reheated. After we pointed it out, they prepared a fresh batch, but that too was just okay. It was priced at ₹175, which didn’t feel worth it.
The vada served in the evening also seemed to be reheated from the morning — possibly multiple times — as it had an unusual red-black color and didn’t taste fresh. Overall, the food was okay, but the menu felt overpriced. With GST and service tax added, the bill came to quite a bit.
At first, we thought it was just our table that received subpar food, but we noticed another table also complaining about the food quality. That was disappointing. With such high pricing, the quality and service really need improvement.
That said, the staff were polite and the location is good but toilets were very dirty, tables weren't cleaned properly a and no proper parking. If they improve on quality and consistency, it could be a good place, but with the overall experience, i think it would be difficult to expect. Personally, I don’t think I’ll be going back.
PS: they ask customer to write a review in front of them. Now I understand why it has 4.4 star. Also, the instagram reels have hyped the...
