Well frankly speaking, i was not aware of this place, got to know about this amazing place few days back only, that too from few of my friends. And m happy i went there by my friends recommendation, and can proudly say i had the best northindian food from this place. This place is running by there new generations, using there grannies recipes from late 1965. This outlet is in sarojini nagar called "Amar jyoti restaurant", located in the hub of main sarojini nagar market hub. A complete family friendly place, good for family lunches and dinner. What i love about this place is they don't use anything readymade, they specially prepare ,every raw items freshly everyday. Ambiance is clean and calm Staffs were prompt too. Now comes to food - In starters - • Mutton seekh - This one is one of there signature dishes and a must try one. Super soft and juicy inside. • Paneer tikka - It was good too, vegetarians will definetly loved it. • Tandoori chicken - It was tender and well marinated, loved it. • Malai chicken tikka - And here comes my favourite, this one is super juicy and so creamy. Enjoyed eating this. In mains - • Rara chicken - Oh again!, one of my favourite from the menu, just melting in mouth with right balanced spices added into it. Must try. • Saag mutton - Saag mutton was okay, as m not fond of mutton but mutton lovers will definetly like it. • Arhar dal - When it comes to basic ,this place have it all. Just perfect with tandoori roti. . Also i tried there vegetarian thali, which itself is a perfect lunch meal and which includes, dal makhani, Shahi paneer, aalu gobhi, boondi raita, steam rice, salad, and breads that too on a reasonable pay scale. . Overall a very good place for lunches and dinner and heaven for non-vegetarians. But that doesn't mean they don't serve veg good. Do try there aalu gobhi, and it was indeed one of my favourite from the menu. Good food with reasonable amount is what this place stands for. Highly recommended.

Today I went this place, with my friends. Well! This is one of my favourite place. And going this restaurant since ages. Today again I went with my friends for late lunch. We ordered quite a lot. In starters, we had, Masala chaap, tandoori chicken, mutton seekh Masala. Everything was too good. What an aroma of spicies 😃😃I completely enjoyed the Masala chaap and my friends enjoyed their non veg. And yes! We end up licking our fingers😁🙈 Seekh masala is their USP. Must try. After all these tempting food, we were all ready with our list for main course.😁😁 And I was the only vegetarian and end up ordering the veg thali. And my friends had Chicken seekh biryani. Yes! You read it correctly, seekh biryani, which hardly you can find. That was the bestest.😃😃And we even had mutton saag wala, mutton keema gravy, butter chicken, garlic naan and mirchi naan.😃😃 Yes! We ordered that much and end up finishing everything.😁😁 Damn delicious.😃😃😃🥺🥺 God! Again I’m craving while even writing.😌🥺🥺 And how can I forget about the drinks, must Try their masala chaach, masala chai and cold coffee. And thanks me later.😄😁🥰 I had their masala chai twice and their masala chaach. Uff!!😍😍😍 Thats not all we end up having their Matka kulfi, for which firstly I denied as I had bad cough, but eat 2 matka kulfis.😁🙈🙈 This is pure heaven for north Indian food lovers. 🤩🤩🤩 Completely loved it.❤️❤️

So basically we had been searching for this restaurant for like 30 min on a Tuesday in Sarojini Nagar to have their famous mutton seekh kebab. BUT, we are super disappointed with their welcome. It's a punjabi restaurant and on seeing our South Indian faces they immediately stopped us from entering and kept saying that they didn't serve south indian and had only north and chinese there. It could have been said in a more patient manner like in a gentle and respectful way. But they chose the hard way and were kinda harsh. I clarified them that we came for north indian food only, and that's when they even let us step in. VERY BAD WELCOME. Obviously taste wise their malai chicken and seekh kebabs were good. But I did not like the people there. Also they did not have a hygienic proper washroom. The hand wash area was a smallll dark place attached right outside the kichen. Due to the unkind people I'm giving only two stars. I would have given only one but their food earned them another star.

Delhi and its love for North Indian cuisine is legendary. But it isn’t easy to come across a place that serves preparations that stay with our taste buds for long. We find it difficult to find a place that offers recipes the way they are supposed to be served. One such gem of a restaurant is Amar Jyoti. Tucked in the busy market place of Sarojini Nagar Market, this is a place for lovers of Indian cuisine. We walked into it on a cold winter evening, to grab our dinner. This is what we ordered. Tandoori Chicken Mutton Seekh Kebabs Keema Mutton Sarso Saag Makke ki Roti Garlic Naan Tandoori Chicken, the favourite snack of almost every non vegetarian in Delhi finds a delicious avatar in this place. Unlike most of the places serving the same, the Tandoori Chicken here is a bit softer from outside, with the masalas finding their way till the last bite. We were told that this owes thanks to a different, patient and innovative way of preparing it, in the tandoor. But we were too busy in sinking our teeth and taste buds in the preparation to pay attention to the exact process. No wonder, it has always found a place amongst the best tandoori chicken served in Delhi. Next, was the winter quintessential of Punjabi, Sarso ka Saag. Served with a dollop of butter, the saag had every element, a hardcore foodie like me expects to find. Right texture, flavours in abundance and overall the taste of freshness made the preparation just the perfect combination with Makke ki Roti. Now, the kebabs, a starter found a place in our plate after the saag. Every bit I had heard about the famed kebabs is actually true. We were left trying to figure out the secret behind the preparation. Maybe it’s the fact that the meat as in the kebabs are made at the restaurant itself, maybe it’s the spices. But definitely, it is one of the best we had till date. Finally, we started with our main course. Garlic Naan and the Keema Mutton. Though we liked it much, but felt the keema would have been more appealing to our taste buds if it had a bit of more spice as in hotness. I was missing out on a bit of sting in it. It might be my personal preference that I like my mutton preparation a bit on the spicier, hotter side. Overall, it wasn’t a bad preparation by any benchmark. So, if you too love North Indian cuisine, this is a must try for...

From stylish clothes to designer footwear to fashionable jewellery and attractive bags, Sarojini Nagar never disappoints. And of course, the delectable food served here is a plus!

Nestled in the lanes of the busy market, this place is a definite stop to satiate your mid and post shopping hunger cravings. Read on to know more...

Amar Jyoti very pleasantly brought my appreciation for comfort , North Indian food to a whole new level. The brand is synonymous with good Punjabi fare specially their Non vegetarian delicacies.

Coming to the food, we tried- Paneer tikka and malai soya chaap for vegetarian starters and Chicken malai tikka and tandoori chicken for non veg starters. Truly enjoyed with a glass of Thumbs up! For main course we had dal makhani, butter chicken and egg curry with assorted breads. Each and every dish was way beyond our expectations. A 50 + year old restaurant, they know their recipes just perfectly. Not to miss, the onion and chutney served along is a class apart. They have a secret recipe they won't share.

Also, Try the kulfis to beat the scorching heat. I personally loved the paan kulfi.

With their warm interiors, relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff, this humble establishment will definitely see more visits from me.

I also happened to meet the owner of the place, Mr. Tanmeet Singh Arora who welcomed us with a big smile and made sure we had a great meal experience.

Still running to full tables and long standing queues every day, it's clear, great restaurants like Amar Jyoti only get better with time.

Meal for two- Rs 600

Address- 186, Sarojini Nagar...
