Costa Coffee — Restaurant in New Delhi

I've been to this outlet three times and it's been a bad experience every single time and I wondered why I went back. The first time I ordered a sandwich. It took forever to come, when it did it tasted like absolutely nothing. There was barely any salami, the cheese was horrible, the lettuce was old and the bread was like cardboard, yuck, makes me cringe just thinking about it. The second time around I had just tea but the chaps at the counter who, were quite audibly exchanging profanities behind the counter, said I could not use my card since the machine was not working but, magically the customer behind me could use their card. the third and, last time, I ordered a slice of coffee cake and it was the most tasteless thing I have ever eaten. Needless to say I could not finish it. The cake had an awful consistency and tasted like nothing, the icing was synthetic and horrid. Visiting from US, we had a layover at Delhi airport and stopped by Costa at Terminal 1(Domestic Airport, spot in front of Indigo Check in). Coffee and food is good but we were specifically impressed by the courteous, professional and polite demeanor of the person handling the requests (Suman Paul). It was pretty refreshing as we found most of the places in Delhi offering a a hurried up, frown filled, disinterested and sometimes borderline rude service. People at airport go to Costa to have one of the best flavor but then you are not offered the cup size of your choice. All small size drinks are discontinued. I don't know the core intention of the store but it seems as it is airport they want to earn more by selling big size cups. Many people are certainly not able to drink 300ml of coffee or tea at once and same happened with me and my colleague and half of the volume has gone to waste bin as they do not offer extra empty cups so as someone can even share by saying that the cups are counted.
