Cosy Box — Restaurant in New Delhi

Pros:

1. great ambience and setup, perfect for instagrammers to click lots of photos (which is what was happening:))
2. very good location in central/South Delhi, next to couple of other popular restos.
3. Good crowd (driven more by the prices, but that's the norm now for places such as this)

Cons:

1. Terrible terrible service: 4of us wanted a sunny lunch place in this cold weather, but were given a table in a cold side corner instead. 5-6 tables were available in the sun but they were 6-10 seaters. Were told that they are booked and we will be given a table as soon as one opens. Couple of visits to the manager in the next hour we were there for didn't help, btw, not even a single person came in any of those tables! After an hour and getting into a bit of debate with the staff on the lies they had been telling, we were given a 4 seater, just as the sun went down in the section! Once your seating and service experience has been so spoilt, food and other things stop to matter I guess.
2. Food is average at best, spicy, not really different or creative (except for probably the names on the menu), with prices that are expensive for average food.
3. Cocktails have very little potency, none of us after a couple of drinks felt even mildly under the influence. Nice colours, presentation and taste in them, but then mocktail is enough for that as well I guess..

Overall, great place for clicking photos and insta stories, but not for an actual...

Terrible Experience at Cozybox – Avoid at All Costs

Our visit to Cozybox was absolutely horrendous. The staff, especially the manager Mahipal, is shockingly arrogant, and his junior, Hitesh, is blatantly dishonest.

My husband and I walked in without a reservation because no one was answering their phone (which should have been a warning sign). We were seated at a table for two and everything seemed fine until two of our friends decided to join us. I personally went to the gate to confirm if they would be allowed entry. Hitesh assured me they could join, so we told our friends to come.

Our friends traveled 16 kilometers from Janakpuri, only to be rudely refused entry upon arrival. What made this even worse was that one of our friends was from their in-laws’ side and is quite senior in age. The whole situation was beyond mortifying—it was deeply humiliating and completely unnecessary.

The manager, Mahipal, had an appallingly rude attitude, showing no empathy for the situation or the effort our friends made to join us. The behavior of the staff, especially Hitesh’s dishonesty, was utterly disgraceful.

This place has no respect for its guests, lacks basic courtesy, and seems to operate with a complete disregard for decency. If you value respect, honesty, and a pleasant dining experience, stay far away...

The restaurant for the ultra elites & probably the worst one in India.

If you don't have a reservation then you won't be allowed to enter. If you've a reservation then you'll be told to stand for eternity. Not an ideal situation for dinner :)

If you've made a reservation & you're with your 65 year old mother then they'll say "you have to wait at the bar for some time. I don't know how much but you have to wait. It can be 30 minutes or 2 hours also so please stand there". This will be happening while half the seats are empty.

Not following COVID protocols put in place by the Central Government of India & Delhi Government. Everyone is walking around without a mask even though they're not eating. I had to ask their employees to step back since they were close to my face & didn't wear a mask.

They have no empathy. If you faint then they'll just say " sorry we can't offer you a seat because all the seats are reserved even though they have been empty for hours".

It was my 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY and they completely ruined it.

If you want to feel like a beggar then please go ahead and visit this restaurant.
