So, there are some places that have a rich history and a great old vibe, that sometimes you visit, just makes you sit there and wander about the place itself and admire it's beauty. La Piazza, is easily one of those gem places in delhi. Opened in 1965, it has been an institution in serving some amazing authentic wood oven pizzas.
We for a chance to have lunch at the place and it was absolutely overwhelming!
Our Review
The food is very authentic and makes you actually wonder about how the quality of the ingredients used is completely out of this world.
In our meal, we were served quite a bit of varieties, starting with some salads. The salads at this are very different from what you usually have at other restaurants. It kind of reminded me of The American Diner, how authentic they make their dishes, it does not even feel that you just came here from the scorching heat of Delhi. Amazing salads !
Spaghetti - they have their in house preparation of the noodles used in spaghetti, and that just signifies the beauty of this place, the quality of ingredients are given the highest priority.
Their spaghetti was absolutely brilliant, and unlike any other that I've ever had! The noodles were really good and well made and the sauce was delicious.
Pizza - Well this is what I've been waiting for !
The pizzas at this place are mouth watering good and I'm damn sure once you have a pizza here, you're gonna crave for that taste for long long time. We had the chance to taste their most popular Margherita and it was fantastic. The base, the sauce, basil, olive oil, everything was a class apart . If I'll have to write the best thing about this place out of all it's history and time, well I'll have no second thought in saying it's their pizzas. It just makes you realise why this place has been such a cult and deserves that 25th anniversary !
I'm much aware of the prices of this place and how this surely isn't affordable dining, however, I'll recommend this just because of the experience you can have when you eat here and the flavors will take you a long place...
Read moreMe and my family visited this restaurant for dinner. For appetizers, we ate the Caprese salad with burrata, which was delicious. As a main, I ate the tomorrow and asparagus ravioli in mushroom cream sauce. It was excellent - the sauce was rich, the flavors were vivid, and the plating was good too. I definitely advise the pasta lovers out there to try this dish. I also tried some of my sister’s Margherita pizza, which is, of course, a classic. For dessert, I chose the molten chocolate cake (with came with a side of vanilla ice-cream). When I dug my spoon into it, the hot, rich molten chocolate oozing out, making me salivate. The combination of the ice-cream and cake were perfect together too - it was just harmony. I loved it so much, and highly recommend any visiting this restaurant to give it a try. In conclusion, the food was both a treat for the taste-buds and the eyes, and the service was quite good was well. I couldn’t help but enjoy the meal since cheese is, of course, the great of my life! I those who like Italian food must come...
Read moreThis place has been in existence since 1994 (so I was told) and can understand why it has survived the test of time. Had luncheon meetings at this place on two consecutive trips to Delhi, with the latest meal on the 5th of Oct 23 and enjoyed both my outings. The food is fantastic and very true to the Italian cuisine they specialize in, of course my POV. Started off with some fantastic focaccia with a funghi salad with goat cheese, absolutely delicious. That was followed with some carpaccio and small portion of their house special La Piazza (Veg). Unfortunately, didn't try any of the wines from their rather large collection but downed a few espressos which were wonderful brewed with finely roasted (and not burnt) beans. It is an expensive place so one needs to be aware of that before stepping in. Do check if they have a kitty party booking, can get very noisy! Special mention to our Maitre d'hôtel, Pravesh, he was brilliant with his...
