A Memorable Birthday Celebration at Jamavar
Jamavar at The Leela Palace in Delhi is truly a culinary gem for anyone looking to experience the elegance and flavors of Indian cuisine. Our evening began with a warm welcome that set the tone for an unforgettable dining experience, thanks to our prior reservation. The ambiance was nothing short of spectacular—plush, warm, and romantic, making it the perfect setting for a special occasion.
The service at Jamavar is impeccable. The staff anticipates your needs with such grace and attentiveness that you feel genuinely pampered. While the menu offers a limited selection of dishes, each one is crafted with precision. The standout for us was the Jamavar Dal Makhni, which was rich, creamy, and bursting with authentic flavors. It perfectly encapsulated the essence of what makes Indian cuisine so beloved.
The highlight of the evening was the surprise birthday celebration. Jamavar graciously arranged a delightful birthday cake for me and my wife, adding a personal touch that made the occasion even more memorable. Such gestures go a long way in creating cherished memories.
To round off our experience, we were delighted to receive a special discount thanks to our reservation made through EazyDiner. It's an excellent tip for anyone looking to enhance their dining experience at Jamavar. The ease and benefits of using EazyDiner made settling the bill a pleasant surprise.

We dined in Jamavar on 22nd June, 2023 around 10.45pm and ordered 1xHara Bhara Kebab, 1xKarari Aloo and Papdi Chaat for starters. The kebabs were absolutely dry and thr chaat was average in taste.
For the main course we ordered (on the suggestion of the staff) 1xGucchi Matar Masala, 1xDal Jamavar, 1xGarlic Naan and 3xTandoori Butter Roti. The staff was polite but out of focus as they served dry rotis. They were later changed into butter rotis. We specifically asked for the Naan to be cut in 3 pieces yet we received it in two. Gucchi Matar Masala was absolutely rubbish.
Overall, the food was pretty average for the cost paid. Small mistakes done while serving shouldn't have occurred with the management carrying the badge of five stars. This is what sets you apart from the cafes of Connaught Place and yet we left disappointed and half hearted.
Please share this feedback directly with the restaurant and kitchen staff, especially the chef. There's no point of procuring INR 18,000/kg mushrooms if you cannot induce taste in them.

Read moreFOREIGNERS BEWARE. This restaurant discriminates their Indian vs. foreign (non-Indian) guests. We were only given drinks menu and set dinner menu (choice of vegetarian and non-vegetarian sets) upon arrival. The set dinners were not inspiring at all for us, but we decided to order anyway as we were very tired from a long trip. After we placed our order, I noticed that the table next to us (Indian guests) received a different set of menus. When they placed their order, I knew instantly that they ordered ala carte dishes. My husband cancelled our set dinner order and asked for ala carte menu immediately. As it turned out, the ala carte dishes were much better and there are many of them to choose from.
Our bill came out to a little over INR 5K for two. Had we ordered set dinners, it's INR 4K for vegatarian & INR4.5K for non-vegetarian. You can conclude yourself why they discriminate...
