Le Cirque — Restaurant in New Delhi

After reading the rave reviews about Le Cirque we booked it for our anniversary last night. Though I would say that in terms of food and ambience the place is unmatched,but, the service was a big big disappointment. We were ushered in to our seat by the hostess and she guided us through the menu. I asked for the vegetarian options in appetizer, the lady suggested me salad, not in a mood for salad I asked for something else, I was suggested to go for truffle fries, I agreed as it was already 9:30pm and I was famished. Eating fries as the first meal for your anniversary is disgusting .I ordered my main course as well. We enquired for some wine options and my husband wanted to place an order for his meal, so she told us that she would send someone for the same. We kept on waiting and noone turned for his food order and liquor order. Then someone finally turned up but he took only liquor order ,my husband's food order was still hanging in uncertainty. Later I asked the server about the vegetarian options he said he could have got made something for me had I ordered before, so either their own staff lives under the rock or they don't care. If you go there is absolutely hard to get the servers and hostess attention. I fail to understand that in such a premium hospitality hotel is this what the guests go to celebrate their special ocassion? To get sidelined, ruins the entire experience. Unhappy and unsatisfied customer. We just ordered some drinks and a salad which was suggested by one of the chefs and was not on the menu. The chef just asked me if I liked cheese and i said yes so he said we must try that for starters, And we placed the order. When this dish was served it just had one slice of tomato and some cheese on it. I totally disliked it as I don't eat tomatoes and wsnt of my taste. So I did not eat it and sent it back politely. Because I did not like the salad I did not wish to order or eat anything further so we did not order the main course and called for the bill. The bill was around 2OOO for the drinks and 3OOO for that salad. Though I remember seeing the entire menu where the most costly dish was for 2OOO something (not even exact 3OOO) that too a chicken dish in the main course. I firstly did not eat it and secondly the salad (with a single slice of Tomato wasn't worth 3OOO. Have been to so many five stars but never faced such an issue. Was very disappointed with the rates mentioned. Did not ask the staff about the bill then, but were shocked to pay 3OOO for a single slice of tomato which we did not find worth. Awesome experience and most yumm desert. Sample desert is mind blowing and far away better than Megu’s yuzu desert. I had both in same day. Restaurant has it’s own vibe and lady in front desk is very helpful.Note that the rolls with tomatoes inside were absolutely delicious.First time visited this restaurants and we had amazing time. Delicious food, impressive drink options, excellent service. Great ambience for business and special occasions.
