Retreat is the restaurant within the precincts of United Service Institute. I'm pained to say that of late, it is slowly turning to "United Safaiwalla's Institute". I see guests - especially in-living - pay scant attention to the dress code of the restaurant. People are entering in bathroom slippers and at times ladies come in their pajamas in which they were sleeping. Mobiles were not allowed to be used in the restaurant earlier. Now even the notice boards are missing. The standard of the Institute and it's restaurant are to be maintained befitting its status. Read moreGreat place in the army cantonment area. It's the restaurant in the premises of USI, next to Anuj Vihar . Situated in a lovely ambience, its a multi cuisine restaurant. It's Continental spread is good with fish 'n chips, chicken steak sizzler striking your palate building your desire for more. It has a nice Indian menu and the snacks are really good. The Chinese is kind of okay, but better avoided. The waiting period on weekends can be tiring . The sitting and ambience inside takes you back to the era of the Raj with the walls done up with murals and models of various ballistics of the era bygone. Overall gives you a very wonderful and satisfying experience. It's open to all. The memnbers who are from defence, police and admin services, who have permanent mbwrahip do get 15% discount. One card holder can get...

That said, the food and service are still as good as before. Getting a bit long in the tooth as far as the decor goes, but service and food still retain their charm. Has a good mix of Indian and continental cuisine, along with a recent addition of Asian cuisine. Reasonably priced, on top of it all, especially the water and the soft drinks which are a ripoff in other restaurants.. Got myself a really tasty chicken sizzler which was...
