Amma Pakoda — Restaurant in Pune

Decided to swing by this establishment solely because I was hungry and it happened to be on the same way as the route I decided to take for my walk. It was a good decision because the Banana Pakoda we ordered was really refreshing. The sweetness of the pakoda went nicely with the sour chutney and the moderately spicy tomato and onion chutney. The Tomato Pakoda left us wanting more, truth be told. The Onion uttappa we had was good as well. The food was hygienic and the restaurant has been kept clean and maintained well. The service was good when the footfall was scanty but quickly things became chaotic as patrons started to roll in and tables started filling up. This can be accounted for by the establishment being understaffed (or so it seemed to us at the time) with one person managing the orders, the till and even waiting. With that as it may be, we observed a sincere effort to offer top notch service and an earnest attempt to get a niche going cuisine wise. I have been ordering food from here since more than 6 months now. Tried visiting the place. I have tatsed their medu wada, mirchi pakoda, sabudana wada, uppe, and few types of uttapas earlier but this time i tried something new. I never had tatte idli and it was my first time eating it. The chatni they served with tatte Idli was best. Also i had banana pakodas made from raw bananas it seems like a regular plain dish but trust me it was way more than that. Usually we dont get stuff or food items made with raw banana so this was something new and equally good for me. The size of idlis was big than usual when i ordered rassam Idli i thought they will serve the plain old tamato rassam with idli and chatni but the rassam was of kokam which was surprising for me. It was really unique with authentic taste. I can guarantee the authentic south Indian taste here with some modern twist.
