Yay! Seems that I am the first reviewer of this Cafe. Jolly good then. First things first- this is a new kid on the block; situated at dhole patil road, in a blink and you miss corner, so use Google maps to go there and I would urge you to go for one and one reason alone- the Chai is dope!!
The place has indoor and outdoor seating, nicely done up interiors and furniture, spotlesy clean and well lit.
Here is some piece of history:- This is the newest of the franchised outlets of Kannu ki chai, conceived by Mr Kunal Gulati whose nickname happens to be Kannu and viola the name!
This outlet is franchised out to an exuberant and well mannered Ms Janki Shaha, an IT professional turned entrepreneur who personally oversees the cafe, we exchanged some pleasantries over tea since I like to talk, a lot!
Having chanced upon this place accidentally, and tea being their flagship product settled on a adrak-elaichi chai a KKC special chai and a filter coffee. Suffice to say that all the three were damn good. The filter coffee- strong, frothy and enticing. The special masala chai equally good and the star was the adrak-elaichi chai of which we instantly became fans of; especially since this one turned even better than our favourite Dubai based tea place- Filli tea.
We also ordered one blueberry muffin, one chocolate cake and a packet of maska khari to go with the flow. The muffins were nice and soft, and the Chocolate cake was melt in the mouth overload of chocolate. Khari was crispy and perfect.
Since we were on an unplanned visit couldn't try any other items on the menu. Will return for sure! That Chaikhana has got my attention and the Chai has won my heart. Ohh the thrills of surprise and joys we get from simple things in life. The best part is their fare- the prices are rock bottom! I don't think you'll get good stuff like these at this kind of prices anywhere else. My whole bill was 220 bucks!!! The prices are aggresively competitive. So head over(heels) to this place if you love chai or filter coffee- very strongly...
Read moreOne of the most bogus and tasteless sandwiches I’ve ever had. I ordered a cheese club sandwich with fries—simple enough, right? But they took an eternity to deliver. After waiting a solid 15 minutes, I finally asked about it, only to be told they had completely forgotten my order. And when I confronted them, the guy in specs had the nerve to argue, claiming my order was lumped in with some online orders and that I just had to wait.
And then came the real letdown—the sandwich was cold, barely had any stuffing, and looked like it had been thrown together as an afterthought. The staff’s hygiene? Absolutely appalling. I picked up two pastries to go, and to my shock, they used their bare hands to pack them in the box. No gloves, no tongs—nothing.
Completely disappointed with the overall quality, service, and basic standards. Would not recommend.
For your reference my token numbers are 350 and 353.
Please don’t apologise for the pathetic service but it’s time you guys educate your staffs and maintain basic hygiene. You guys have a board stating “DON’T FEED DOGS”. Seriously? I feel, they create less mess and maintain a lot more hygiene that your outlet in the Commerzone space. Please...
Read moreI do not understand the reasoning behind serving chai with hand gloves ON and touching food with bare hands!!! Ordered some cakes parcel which were neatly wrapped in thin plastic sheet. The guy peeled off the neatly wrapped food, patted it while wrapping it in butter paper. Can't digest the logic behind sacrificing hygiene in favor of aesthetics. Tried telling the guy otherwise but his dedication made my reasoning for cleanliness and logic fall on deaf ears!!! Same with other servers, they have mastered the art of ignoring you!!!
They continue to handle the chai cups with gloved hands while caressing your food with their bare...
