I am a Misal fan and I had heard positive views about the misal at Mahesh Bhuvan. Today I got the opportunity to go there. It is located in the interiors of Timber market and has a simple vibe. I ordered Misal pav, Batata wada, Batata bhaji ( Pakoras) and taak. The Misal is mild in it's spice level, but very tasty. It's unique presentation is enhanced by garnishing with grated coconut ( kislele khobre) and tomato. The sample is different from the usual sample of matki usal. It is made up of Watana batata bhaji ( peas and potato curry). Additional sample wati is provided on the side. If you need more, you need to pay extra. Pav and chopped onion is provided on the side. I liked the Misal. The Batata bhaji were hot and crispy, served with a chutney and fried green chilli. I enjoyed the bhaji a lot and they are a highlight. The Batata wada was nice, but not special. The food was not spicy and I ordered the taak only for trying out. The taak was very good. The misal is very good to try out for it's difference and uniqueness. The Batata bhaji and taak are also very good. The prices are very reasonable and you get good...
Read moreLocated in a busy timber market area. Thoda difficult to find, parking more difficult to find. Seems crowded most of the times. Simple setup, seating is quite basic and you need to adjust yourself wherever u find a place to sit. Menu is quite vast, a lot of options to try. Misal is quite popular here a.d so are the chat items. We tried their palak chat yummy, batata bhaji so so crispy n crunchy, then came the misal, jabardast- i loved it. Taste was different and not like every other misal in pune and hence it is popular. This place is quite old and has patrons who flock here every now and than. I can say its a legendary food place that stands to its name. I highly recommend for good snack or misal spot if in this area. Payments only cash accepted. Pricing is reasonable n quality n taste...
Read moreA place for good misal but please expect unhygienic environment.. A huge chunk of boiled potato was served along with misal, which kind of ruins our mood to eat misal.. However, taste of rassa/tarri/cut was good.. Probably first place where grated coconut is served on misal and it goes really well.. Tried bread pattice too, and taste was really good.. I saw a rat running over covered counter, where food was stored..
You can park 2W/4W outside the shop. The shop is little small, so if you go during peak hours, kindly expect delays in getting table..
I feel this place has good taste, but hygiene issues need to be addressed on priority, highly needed.. If owner is reading this, please take this feedback constructively, I have no intentions to defame...
