Odisha Hotel is renowned for traditional Odia dishes specially mutton and seafood. I have enjoyed their food several times in Bhubaneswar as well as their branch in Hinjewadi ( which is closed now). What sets them apart is their commitment to authenticity - they source their mutton and seafood from Orissa/Chilka Lake, ensuring fresh and genuine flavors. Here’s what we ordered : Mutton Thali: Served in a huge brass plate, the Mutton Thali included mutton curry, dal, rice, raita, papad, chips, bhaja, and berry pickle. The mutton curry, known as Khasi Mansa Aloo Jhol in Odia, was simply outstanding. The mutton was slow-cooked to perfection, tender and juicy, in a velvety, rich gravy with potato that was absolutely divine 😋. Prawns Fry and Prawns Thali: As I mentioned earlier, the prawns are sourced directly from Chilka Lake, they were large, flavorful, and juicy, served with their shells intact. The Prawns Thali was similar to the Mutton Thali, but served with prawn curry instead of mutton curry, making for an equally satisfying meal. Overall Experience: The flavors at Odisha Hotel are rich, authentic, and immensely satisfying. For mutton and seafood lovers, this place...
Read moreWe dined out on Ganesh Chaturthi occasion, so instead of normal veg thali we got festival thali. I will start with good part, eating on kansa thali was fancy and thali had some authentic odia dishes. Old odia songs in ambience will remind you of Odisha. These thing we can also recreate at our home. That was the only good I can think of.
Now citical part, All the served food was cold, even rice. No taste, which was a turn off. Me myself odia I would say it's that's not how a simple aroa batho and dalma should taste. We don't even serve cold food to our enemies but these people giving it to their customers. They even charged ₹400+tax per plate. When we asked for bill that time server asked in case we want anything, hmm, to late bro. When we complain about cold food while paying out, manager is just smiling without any explanation as if he doesn't care. Atleast acknowledge your shortcoming. Another thing they can work a lot is on hygiene, plz clean your restaurant gate/surrounding clean and that you can do before your customers arrived not when they are arrived and inside. PS: Please change your name because your service and food just disgrace to...
Read moreWe ordered dahibara, khiri, and pakoda. All of them were below average in taste. When we entered and asked for dahibara, they told us to wait outside the restaurant as they serve dahibara there. The bara smelled rotten, and the taste was like stale food. Guguni and allu dum were good, though. When we complained, the manager suggested we might not be aware of the taste, but being from Cuttack, I know how dahibara should taste.
As for the khiri, even a small boy in my family can make a better one. The chicken pakoda is below average. Since you opened a new shop in Pune, it's essential to be open to complaints and address them with grace to improve your service. Unfortunately, the shop manager lacks basic courtesy, such as inviting customers to sit and explore other food options. Based on his behavior, it appears he may not want the shop to succeed. As a respected franchise representing Odia food, treating all customers with respect and serving quality food is crucial. Start with small quantities and the best possible quality to maintain the reputation of this...
