I have been to many Pizza Joints in my little hunt for exquisite food. This one place definitely struck a milestone in the same. This little café is relatively small and situated on a main road in Aundh with a pretty high Zomato rating. I believe the place does deserve the accolades which are most conveniently corroborated by the food they cook there.
#Ambience
The place is small with around 5-6 tables and a total capacity to accommodate is around 20 around. Quite and comfortable seating is the primary thing that you will be looking at here.
#Rosso Bianco Special Pizza, Cheese Burst
This is a regular pizza which you will find in dominos but the catch here is, the baking is far far better than the later and the tastes is also amazing. The pizza we ordered was just a 6inches one which was more than sufficient for a person.
#Fully Loaded (24”)
This was a delight there…(PS: Photos). A 24 inches monster pizza which can actually cater to your brawling appetite. This beast was just the toned up version of the Rosso Bianco Special Pizza just the case that its each slice was humongous and it tasted a little bland.
#Alfredo Pasta
This is a regular pasta again which is served in scores of restaurants across pune. The only thing I liked about this pasta was its viscosity which amplified its taste from good to fantabulous.
#Arrabiata Pasta
This is a decent one here, but again I never preferred this sauce for pasta atleast from a few years now cause I have been disappointed a lot of times. Though this place did do the right thing about cooking the tomato puree properly but again the spice blend was probably improper as it turns out the dish required water to wash down the throat.
#Gentry
I would recommend you people to visit this place with friends/close friends ;) but seriously don’t visit on your first date..:P Luckily I did not had a date but really made a memory worth remembering for the times I went.
Final Verdict:
Ambience: 2.5/5 Service: 3.5/5
Food Quality: 4.5/5
Food Quantity:...
Read moreIt's a small place so the ambience is as good as your imagination can take you. The red interiors do try to give it a look of a mature continental eatery. The professionalism extended to us by the staff could be imagined by the suggestion of one of the staff members to make a 'Jain Pasta' when someone from our crew instructed not to put Garlic in his, making us burst out in laughter with regards to this scene and in the anticipation of the sign of things to come.
The food was okay. Nothing extraordinary but one of the starters, Paneer Fingers is one to try out. It was lip-smacking delicious. And talking further about starters, another one that we had ordered (bruschetta) can be seen here in one of the pics. Excuse me if it looks like masala papad because that's exactly what it looked and tasted like much to our amusement rather than disappointment. The drinks (we all ordered cold coffees) were alright, nothing too bad about them.
The main course was nice. Could not find any fault with the regular Arrabiata and Alfredo pastas as they were quite up to the mark (even the one without the garlic too). But the Lasagna that we ordered (can be seen in the pic) was a bit of a downer in the way it was presented. The part that was covered by cheese was what Lasagna is meant to be, the part without it felt like thickened tomato soup. The veggies, though were found in abundance under the layer of cheese which did bring some of my hopes up and they kind of slipped into the supposed tomato soup which, acc to the friends who shared the dish with me was good enough for their liking. An accident, with the dish, perhaps, but who am I to complain if something tastes apt?
I would say 3 and a half. Not...
Read moreAs many other reviewers have said, this is a delightful, cozy little place with great food, both Italian as you'd expect from the name, and (a surprise) Mediterranean, plus coffee at reasonable prices. Their pizza is to die for. I'd had it delivered at home on several occasions. But this was my 1st time going in person. It seemed a perfect choice because I had an Italian friend visiting, and we live only a 5-minute rickshaw ride away.
We were intrigued to find falafel pizza and couldn't resist trying it out. Quite interesting, though I think I'll stick to more traditional Italian and Mediterranean fare in the future. The comment by another reviewer that not olive but another oil is used for the pizza is either not true or was perhaps true when that reviewer went but not now.
A TV was on and the volume a bit loud for our liking, but the staff quickly turned it down when we asked. They were all very nice but could have been a little faster to take our orders and check on us.
There are only a few booths and tables in the restaurant but several more outside on an attractive small patio. I doubt that customers would have difficulty finding seating, however, as the location is not in a popular part of town ... not a bad section but one not notedfor restaurants or much else except Khadki Rail Station.
I didn't see a washroom, so I'm not sure they have one. This is a question perhaps another review will cover.
My Italian friend, by the way, was quite pleased with the place, especially the single picture of an...
