We visited as a group of 5 for dinner on the 29th of March. The place is clean and tidy with comfortable seating for families. The menu cards are clear and some prices change daily as per catch. The prices of some items like Pomfret Thali appeared to be on higher side.
550/- odd for a Pomfret thali, 470 odd for Surmai Thali is okay nowadays but the Fish served was of a very small size compared to price and the curry had an even smaller piece. The fried fish were overcooked and as a result tasted average. There is a thick layer of coating probably cornflour or some starch which makes the Fried fish look good but taste bad. The bombil fry was a huge disappointment with just 3 tiniest pieces soaking in excess oil for 160/- Surmai fry was also coated with some starch that was a turnoff. Mandeli fry was 11 small pieces for 130/- They should serve proper shallow fried fish coated with rava like the Konkani, Goan or Manglorean style. The orange coloured fish gravy common to all curries was too thick, pungent and lacked any flavour. Bhakri, wade were good. Food wise the place can improve a lot. They charge premium rates but the fish provided is not premium quality at all. We had one Jain guest and the Hotel showed total reluctance when asked if they could prepare any simple rice dish without onion or garlic. After lot of persuasion they agreed to serve a veg pulao but the waiter kept saying everything is pre prepared and they could offer nothing.
They have to understand that of such a hotel cannot accomodate a simple Jain food request the whole group.can leave the Hotel to search for another option. How difficult is it for the cook to make some fresh rice with simple spices without onion and garlic? Saying a flat NO to such requests will only hamper their reputation.
Good marks for cleanliness, but service and food was...
Read moreIt's very well known restaurant in town for the sea food speciality. It's a branch of Mumbai based restaurant and serving in Pune since quite a long time. The ambiance is good, service is very quick and the quantity of all items is proportionate to it's price. There are options available for thalis as well as ala-a-carte menu items. The specialities include seafood and chicken which is cooked in special malvani masala. One can get very authentic manvani food experience here. Along with curries and fish fries, there are options of bhakari chapati and even bhajani wade. They have good options in veg section also, one can choose from veg thali or few veg dishes. Service is extremely quick and everything was served very hot. I am very much delighted with the experience this time, but the quality mostly depends on the freshness of fish. The last time I had visited it was not so good but this time it was great. I do recommend this restaurant for a hardcore non veg foodie who especially loves the seafood and...
Read moreThis used to be my go-to place for fish fry and fish thalis, but today was a big disappointment. We ordered two Prawns Masala Thalis, one Chicken Thali, and one Surmai Thali. The Chicken Thali was okay, but all three fish thalis were below average in taste, portion size, and quality. The fish fry pieces were extremely thin and lacked flavor.
My family and I, who live in Baner, traveled all the way to Sinhagad Road just to enjoy a satisfying fish meal, but we were thoroughly let down. Both the thalis and the fish fry left much to be desired. To make matters worse, the prices have been hiked significantly, which just doesn’t match the quality anymore.
To top it off, the staff were arrogant and seemed indifferent to the customers, as if they no longer cared about providing good service. Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend this place, especially with so many other great options for fish thalis around the city.
Ultimately, it’s up to your taste buds, but it's a...
