Spice Garden — Restaurant in Pune

I was a bit skeptical about visiting Spice Garden after reading mixed reviews on Zomato, but still went ahead for a lunch on a Saturday afternoon. The location of the restaurant is perfect, over a hilltop just behind MIT college. The initial impression wasn't great as the entrance and parking both aren't up to the mark. As we entered, we got a feel as if a few tables and chairs have been laid out on a huge terrace. Even though it's a rooftop restaurant, a lot of work needs to be done on improving the ambiance. Now let's come to the factor that matters the most. We ordered Half Chicken Tandoori: 4 pieces of well marinated tender chicken Chicken Peshawari: Not on the menu list but our waiter recommended it and glad that we ordered it. Right balance of spices and cooked to perfection! Quantity is good enough for two. Highly recommended Butter Naan: Nice and Soft Neer Dosa: Four paper like thin Dosas, Must try! Appam: Soft and spongy, served hot

The waiters were attentive and the service was super quick.

Overall, I had an awesome meal at Spice Garden and well within the budget. If you don't care about the ambience and if food is what matters the most, then you must give this restaurant a try!

Staff was very accomodative. They offered to look after my son while I was having dinner. We were the last group to leave and all the staff waited patiently for us to finish. When a few group members joined later, the staff was very prompt in adjusting the tables. We did not need to request them. For starters we had honey chilli potato. It was good. Butter chicken was very tasty. Chicken was juicy and tender. Masala was tasty. Butter roti, naan, kulcha all were very Soft even after getting cold. We ended meal with our favourite- cheese Cherry pineapple. Its an all time favourite within our family and was perfect as usual. I had not been to this restaurant since before it's renovation. But it shows they have put a lot of efforts in designing and decore. They have monogram lights too! As always there was a cricket Match on the projector. Best part was a properly enclosed open air play area where kids can play swing, slides, 1large 1 enclosed smaller trampoline. The floor is covered with artificial grass. I did not take pics of the play area coz a few kids were playing. However a dedicated safe play space for kids was just an amazing experience. This huge property is located in kothrud that's right in the heart of the city. They have very huge premises. The outdoor seating area, the soon to be planned area for food festivals,rooftop for parties, etc. The drinks they serve here are really great. Kudos to the bartender for that. Classic LIIT- My evergreen choice for cocktail. A great blend of different spirits along with a soothing mixer,yet potent enough. Spice garden punch- This had my heart, a drink similar to liit but still had that secret element which made it even more better. As guiding ourselves through drinks, we needed something to munch on too. The food over here is really good and fresh. Soya chap on sugarcane sticks - This was a bang on dish. Finger sized sugarcane sticks wrapped around with the soya chap and deep fried. Served in shot glasses with an amazing secret dip. This was the star of the evening. Corn cheese balls- Who doesn't like this cheesy bar bite. The yumminess of corn and gooeyness of cheese makes a great combination. Ending the evening on a sweet note with chocolate mousse. A mousse that was so smooth and creamy, melted as soon as it enters your mouth. An awesome place to enjoy and spend quality time with your dear ones. Gonna visit here...
