M.L. Mansarover Dhaba is a place that holds a special place in my heart. Ever since I was a child, my father took me here to taste the world's best goat curry and I have been coming back for the past 30 years. I still remember standing in front of my dad's scooter and being awed by the humble beginnings of this Dhaba, which used to be just a temporary shed made of straw and had manjas instead of chairs.
Although now split into two separate entities, M.L. and Lucky Mansarover Dhaba, both are still the original Mansarover Dhaba built on the land leased from Sardar Sewa Singh Ji Johal of Johal Market and Johal Tent Service. The owners of the Dhaba are originally from Pakistan and they brought with them the secret recipe of mutton curry that they prepare to perfection every day.
One of the secrets to the mouth-watering dish is the choice of raw meat. I have seen them reject meat if it's not up to the mark, which just goes to show how dedicated they are to their craft.
