SABE COFFEE and WORKSPACE — Restaurant in Punjab

I came to know about this delightful café space from a colleague who spends a lot of time working out of his laptop in public spaces in different cities, and he happens to be just the guy to know the best coffee joints at surprising prices. So when I wanted to get out of the house and try a new café where I could also work away, I decided to try SABE. Till now, I had sampled most of the big names in Mohali (overrated, usually bland and overpriced coffee, and flat staff service]. I have also tried a couple of the new ones which have been buzzing on social media. Though the taste of the coffee and pricing were pretty good, the amenities were poor (noisy surroundings, cramped space to sit and work in, weak wifi). So imagine my surprise when I found this warm, cozy joint with a quaint environment … delicious coffee hitting just the right ‘notes’, and at what good prices! I tried 3 different coffees just for the heck of it—all between 180 to about 230. Look at these pics and tell me you that can find fresh and delicious coffee in peaceful ambience at this price anywhere in Mohali. And I’ve drunk much worse coffee right across the same street from breweries with tall reputations, at such high prices! But what has already made me a convert, a SABE evangelist, if you will, is the loving care and attention with which the staff welcomes and serves you. They are attentive and polite to a fault in making sure you are taken care of. This is proper Service with a Smile, folks.

I was there for a couple of hours to finish editing a story manuscript … and my time breezed past .. and guess what, I got the job done!

They also offer dedicated coworking space deals at good deals and have a 'Zen' area that's pretty much soundproof, and the owner of the establishment goes out of her way to customize solutions for your needs from what I hear from my colleague. But that's for later.

If this sounds all like forced praise, I urge you to try their coffee and hospitality just once (maybe with a dash of office work) and make up your mind for yourself. The proof is always in the pudding ... or in this case, the cream of...

Don’t Be Fooled by the Fancy Pictures – Here’s the Ugly Truth

The reality is far from what their polished pictures suggest. Misleading advertising and half-truths dominate their so-called “workspace coffee experience.”

I visited the café, intrigued by the workspace option. As I tried to access the upper area, I noticed planters blocking the stairs. Assuming it was closed, I asked a staff member—only to be informed that the space was actually available, but only if you pre-book and pay. Fair enough. But here’s where things took a turn.

They refused to give a tour. Instead, I was told to watch a video and then decide if I still wanted a tour—seriously? If you expect customers to commit, why make the process so unreasonably difficult? Out of curiosity, I watched the video and still requested a tour. That’s when the real nonsense began.

To simply step inside, I was required to fill out a lengthy form, switch off my phone, and jump through hoops like I was applying for a high-security clearance. That was the final straw. I walked out and took my business elsewhere.

The Big Problem?

Their marketing is deceptive—they lure customers in with workspace promises but conveniently hide the fact that it’s an expensive add-on. You can’t even get a simple glimpse without crossing seven hurdles.

To top it off, the staff is cold, unwelcoming, and completely indifferent to customer service. Zero effort. Zero hospitality.

Final Verdict: Hard Pass.

If you value transparency, customer service, and a hassle-free experience, skip this place entirely. Plenty of other cafés offer better workspaces without the...

I visited Sabe Hub Mohali in August 2024 and was absolutely blown away by the experience. I was looking for a cozy café where I could work, and this place was exactly what I needed! The vibe was immaculate—serene environment with mellow music playing in the background, perfect for getting work done. The aesthetics were incredibly pleasing, and the staff was super welcoming, which made the entire visit even more enjoyable.

A few months later, I had the chance to check out the new workspace on the first floor, and it truly exceeded my expectations. The workspace is designed to perfection—comfortable couches, a library, ambient lighting, and a peaceful atmosphere that makes it easy to focus and get things done. You can tell that a lot of thought has gone into every little detail to make the environment as productive and comfortable as possible.

The food was fantastic too! I highly recommend the carrot cake and matcha—both were absolutely delicious. 😋

On top of all this, Sabe Hub also organizes a range of events, from meditation sessions to women's summits, seminars, and pep talks—there’s always something going on. It's definitely a hidden gem in Tricity.
