My recent visit to Sethi Dhaba in Zirakpur left me with a dissatisfying experience, marking it as my third and final visit to this establishment. Upon entering, the absence of assistance forced my family and me to find our table. The initial 20-25 minutes elapsed before a waiter finally attended to take our order, exhibiting a disinterested and rude demeanour throughout.
The ambiance was marred by a nauseating odour, and the furniture, featuring torn seats, seemed neglected. Rather than addressing the wear and tear professionally, the establishment resorted to using cello tape as a makeshift solution, compromising the overall appeal. The subpar quality of the seating was a clear reflection of the restaurant's lack of commitment to maintaining a pleasant environment for patrons.
The disappointing experience continued with a considerable delay in receiving our order, extending an additional 25 minutes. The average taste of the food did not justify the prices charged. The staff's attitude, especially the waiter who took our order, further diminished the overall dining experience.
Attempting to address the issue of an overly loud DJ, the response from the staff was uncooperative. Instead of accommodating the request to lower the volume, they claimed it was fixed, displaying a disregard for customer comfort and satisfaction. In light of this experience, I strongly advise against visiting Sethi Dhaba. Zirakpur offers alternative dining options such as Papi Dhaba and PK Family Restaurant, both providing a 10% discount along with delicious food and excellent service. It raises questions about the management's commitment to maintaining a standard of service, leaving me to ponder why such an establishment is in operation if basic aspects of customer experience are neglected. Read moreDuring my recent 15-day Ladakh ride, we spent our last day resting in Chandigarh, and decided to visit Sethi Dhaba—a choice I’ll never regret. The place instantly stood out with its vibrant, quirky wall art that was both epic and genuinely funny, setting a lively mood for our meal. The atmosphere was relaxed but buzzing, perfect for unwinding after a long journey. We started our feast with the tandoori, which was perfectly cooked and had just the right amount of spice—enough to wake up the taste buds but not overpowering. For the main course, we chose the butter chicken. I have to say, it was one of the creamiest and most flavorful I’ve ever had—rich, with a melt-in-the-mouth texture, and the flavours balanced wonderfully. We paired it with a special type of roti (unfortunately, I can’t recall the exact name), but it complemented the butter chicken beautifully. Each bite made me appreciate why Sethi Dhaba is so well known. Not wanting to miss out, we also ordered mutton biryani. It arrived piping hot and was unlike any biryani I’ve had before—deep spices, very fragrant, and the mutton was tender and well-cooked. The meal felt complete after we tried their kulfi for dessert. We ordered every flavour available, and each impressed us more than the last—creamy, refreshing, and the perfect end to a rich meal. Service deserves a special mention, as everything was brought to our table quickly, and the staff were attentive without hovering. We had a lot of fun, shared many laughs, and really enjoyed the whole experience. Next time I’m in Chandigarh, Sethi Dhaba will definitely be on my list again. If you’re nearby, don’t miss out on dining here—delicious food, fun ambience, and...
Read moreI visited all the branches of Sethi dhaba, but at Zirakpur branch, my experience was just OK. While the dhaba managed to create a pleasant ambiance with its traditional interior design, the overall experience was marred by the lack of cleanliness, average food quality, and disappointing hospitality. The interior of the place is designed in a way that successfully captures the typical dhaba feel, which was a nice touch. The food quality was decent, nothing exceptional. I would rate it around 3.5 out of 5 in terms of taste. The dishes I ordered were average, and while they satisfied my hunger, they didn't leave a lasting impression. So, if you're looking for an extraordinary culinary experience, this may not be the ideal place. One significant downside was the cleanliness. were not well-maintained, and this lack of cleanliness affected the overall hygiene of the establishment. It's essential for any dining establishment to prioritize cleanliness, and in this regard, the dhaba fell short. Another aspect that disappointed me was the hospitality of the waiters. They seemed indifferent and inattentive, showing a lack of enthusiasm and warmth towards the customers. Additionally, I was surprised when they refused to serve drinking water and instead insisted that we purchase it. This kind of approach felt unwelcoming and left a...
