I wish I could give this place negative stars, but alas, I am limited to just one. If you're craving authentic dil panjabi food, avoid this restaurant at all costs.
Let’s start with the Paneer Angara. The description promised a smoky, spicy, flavorful delight, but what I received was a sad, rubbery chunk of paneer with absolutely no flavor. Honestly, I’ve had better paneer from the frozen section of a supermarket. The "angara" (smoke) was clearly just a wishful thought from the chef, because there was no trace of it. I swear it was more like boiled paneer thrown on a plate with a pathetic attempt at some burnt-looking sauce. Yuck!
Then, let's talk about the Chapati. If you enjoy chewing on a piece of cardboard with the texture of old gym socks, this place is for you. The chapati was dry, hard, and thin enough to use as a frisbee. I thought I was going to lose a tooth on the first bite. Forget "soft and fluffy," this was the opposite of everything you expect from a chapati.
And now, the price. I’m convinced they’ve hired a magician because somehow they managed to make bland, tasteless food costly. For what? The paneer tasted like it came from a discount store, the chapati was a tragedy, and I left hungry AND poorer.
Honestly, this place feels like a complete fraud. I had high hopes for some authentic, homey Punjabi food, but all I got was a reminder that my money could have been better spent elsewhere.
Avoid at all costs unless you want to experience what “disappointment”...
Read moreDil Punjabi Dhaba, Udaipur is a hidden gem for anyone craving authentic Punjabi food in the heart of Rajasthan. I recently visited this place with friends during our Udaipur trip, and it truly exceeded our expectations.
The moment you enter, the traditional dhaba vibe hits you with its rustic seating, colorful Punjabi decor, and upbeat Punjabi music playing in the background. The ambiance is simple yet vibrant, giving you that classic roadside dhaba feel, but with cleanliness and proper service maintained.
Coming to the food – it's absolutely delicious! We tried the paneer butter masala, dal makhani, and tandoori roti, and every bite was bursting with flavor. The spices were perfectly balanced, and the food tasted fresh and homemade. The portion sizes were generous and worth the price. Their lassi is a must-try – thick, creamy, and served in a traditional glass with malai on top!
The staff was polite, quick with service, and attentive. The owner also came over and checked if everything was fine, which made us feel welcomed.
What sets Dil Punjabi Dhaba apart is its authentic Punjabi taste, reasonable pricing, and the homely touch they offer. It’s located conveniently on the highway, making it a great pitstop for travelers and locals alike.
Overall, Dil Punjabi Dhaba is a highly recommended food joint in Udaipur. Whether you’re a tourist or a local looking for delicious North Indian cuisine, this place won’t disappoint. Will definitely...
Read moreI recently visited this family restaurant and had an overall average experience. The food was decent, but nothing to write home about. While the flavors were generally okay, I found some dishes to be a bit underwhelming and lacking the depth I was hoping for. It wasn't bad by any means, but it didn't leave a lasting impression either. There were a few items that stood out as better than others, but for the most part, the meals were fairly standard and didn't offer anything particularly unique or exciting.
As for the pricing, I’d say it’s reasonably affordable for the portion sizes and quality you’re getting. The menu offers a variety of choices, and while the prices aren’t overly expensive, they also aren’t rock-bottom cheap. For a casual family outing, I would say the value is acceptable, especially considering the comfort and convenience of the place. The atmosphere is relaxed and family-friendly, making it a suitable option for a laid-back meal with loved ones.
Overall, this restaurant is fine for a quick, no-frills meal but doesn't stand out in terms of food quality or innovation. If you're looking for a simple, budget-friendly place to eat with family, it's worth considering, but don't expect anything...
