The Worst Café Experience I’ve Ever Had

I recently visited Udaipur and went to this café based on a friend’s recommendation and positive Google reviews. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing.

We ordered a pizza (as a starter), followed by dum aloo, a bread basket, and dal for the main course.

The pizza alone took 45 minutes to arrive, despite us asking about it three times. Each time, the staff assured us it would be served in “just 5 minutes,” but it clearly wasn’t. We didn’t complain much at that point because we were enjoying the ambiance.

However, things got worse. When we asked how long the main course would take, we were again told it would be ready before we finished the pizza. That never happened. After finishing the pizza, we waited another 40 minutes — asking repeatedly — and still got the same response: “Just 10 more minutes.” By then, we were starving and completely frustrated.

We finally asked them to just bill us for the pizza, but the staff insisted we wait another 5 minutes and even offered a complimentary dish — trying to compensate with free food instead of timely service. Even after all this delay and inconvenience, not a single apology was given.

We went there on our Anniversary, you need to climb to reach the top, no problem for young and normal fit pp but we had a problem taking a baby inside a pram so you need to lift it, however later helped by the restaurant boys, we ordered pinacolada, potato wedges, spring rolls, panner tikka, chapati, chocolate brownie,white pasta etc. The food overall was good but the beverage pinnacolada was very bad the reason 2 stars deducted, didn't like potato wedges too. The view from the restaurant is amazing you can see good view of Lake Fatehsagar. The prices are on higher side just as we see in the lake side restaurant but a plus is this is pure veg restaurant. This was the worse dining experience I have had in all my time visiting India. I'll give them one star because the view and set-up is very lovely but the food and service was atrocious, if I could I would give this restaurant minus 5 for our overall experience. Their understanding of the meals is worse than a child's- the pizza for example was literally tomato sauce with questioniable selection of sad veggies and the base was like eating cardboard. All the food we had was to put bluntly, just terrible in flavour and execution - why do you put olives on top of creamy mushroom pasta?! And then, the absolute audacity at the end for the staff to blame us for our sense of taste! Seriously?
