The restaurant was a chance find for 2 out of towner mothers to toddlers and they made no attempt to impress. The service as mentioned in other reviews also is terrible. The staff was more interested in attending to the bigger tables for tips and the exorbitant service charge that they feel entitled to receive. We ordered simple veg stew and Appam and the next lot of Appam took forever till our stew was stone cold. Upon asking on the delay they explain to us like illiterates what an Appam is and how it takes time to prepare this dish, made no actual attempt on checking on the order and went about their business. Our request to heat up the food was also ignored like it's not really their concer how we eat our food. The baby chairs should be kept for aesthetics only as they don't serve their purpose, our 1 and 2 year Olds could easily slip out from it and run around. Trichy lemonade is jaljeera with soda and the drink took a round of the restaurant was returned to us without the extra ice we asked to add. The true test of a good south Indian eatery is their idli and they truly fail at it. Idli was definitely stale and was hard and dry. The double door at the entrance is manned but the security makes no efforts to hold or help to open specially with kids in our lap. Despite our terrible experience the staff felt entitled to add service charge without our consent and tried to again reason with us like we are some ill informed vulnerable women, they also insisted on taking our contact information for 'reporting purpose' all of which is unlawful and uncalled for.
Looking back the experience was truly biased and worth to take out time to write this review to inform others. The restaurant need to make serious amends else they will be out of business in no time in this foodie heaven...
Read moreThey do not serve appam with sambhar in home delivery.
I have been a frequent dinner at Juggernaut and their appam ALWAYS served with sambhar is my favourite. This time i ordered appam at home and can you believe it they literally sent just plain appam….no sambhar.. no chutney. When i called the restaurant to ask them how can one eat appam without Sambhar their junior staff replied that in their menu appam comes without sambhar. They said that they are helpless in this matter and i should talk to their senior MR ANIL. oh! What a delight he was. He said the same thing about how they do not serve appam with sambhar and that in restaurant they give sambhar along with appam out of generosity. Unfortunately they do not extend this generosity to home delivery. He also pointed out how i should have ordered extra sambhar. To that i said that there was no option of extra sambhar. He said i should have called the restaurant and they would have sent sambhar along with the appam (generosity!!) But here my issue was that I didn’t even know that appam would come without sambhar as they always serve it with sambhar in dine in and there was no mention of such thing on swiggy as well. So this Mr. Anil enlightened me by letting me know how fool I am for expecting two appam, one sambhar and one chutney in 139 rs as it is impossible for him to cover the cost. Well unfortunately I am not in food business to understand his cost evaluation but mother of a 5 year old who on that night was left staring at 2 sad appam, humored by Mr. Anil,...
Read moreVisited last week for lunch. It was bustling but there was no sign of chaos. The mark of a Great service. Rasam + papad as a welcome drink was great too. Remember it’s Tamil Nadu cuisine here so if you’re not trying traditional food, you’re missing something. The spinach and paneer dosas, though yummy, don’t hold a candle to their special thali. The appams were perfect and the veggies were surprisingly tasty. Sambar, chutneys, and the pickles were absolutely great. I’m not a payasam fan so I let it pass but their filter coffee was great. I ordered some extra decoction to make mine stronger. The cold filter coffee is a big tall glass with ice cream in it, so beware. One thing you must check out are the jumbo sized patties (pastry) that I saw here - for the first time ever. Didn’t get a chance to try since the thali was so filling but my co-diners who did, did not find it as great as expected. However, it’s still a novelty just for their size, especially if you’re a pastry fan like me. I honestly don’t care about the filling as long as my pastry is flaky and scrumptious. Im told North Indian food is good too - I did taste the golgappa here and they were fantastic. Better than your Haldirams and Bansi wala chaat. BUT. BUT. BUT. Juggernut is a place to go all trad and puritan because of their excellence in South Indian cuisine. Finally, I agree with other reviewers here about the water - I prefer regular water but we generally get bottled water out here without...
