I have been a loyal customer of puri bakers for as long as i remember for their consistent taste and quality. But last night turned out so horrible for me that i couldn’t resist posting this review. Yesterday it was my daughter’s 1st birthday celebration, so 3-4 days back i had ordered a customised 2 kg cake at Puri Bakers, Sector-13, Rohini branch. When i went there yesterday evening to pick the cake, i was told that they could not prepare my cake and other people’s orders that they had due to some issue in their facility and hence they have been refunding the advance that was paid to them. For a moment i was dumbstruck for i could not believe what i was being told. After a while i asked the guy why i was not informed then, to which he casually asks ‘apko call nahi aya’. Upon my denial, he talks to other person and tells me that, sir we have called everyone, you must have not taken the call. It bewildered me and series of exchange happened. I told them upfront that even if you tried to call me 10 times and if i didnt take it each time, it still does not fulfill your responsibility because you should have dropped a text/whatsapp something. Then i asked them to show me their call records for which they were so adamant and i was sure i didnt receive any. And not to my surprise there wasn’t any. Now the manager/owner of the store arrives. Briefly after all above same exchange of words with him, with utmost arrogance and lack of empathy, he tells me that he is sorry for the miscommunication and offers me to buy something that is available. I was like its my daughter’s first birthday and i am standing at your shop just an hour before the function in such situation due to your ignorance/negligence and all you have to offer is this !!!! I mean i was not looking for any compensation or anything, that was least of my concern, but considering him being at faulty side he was not at all in consolling or helpful or mending the mistake mood. I believe he didnt even care how this small mistake of his was a blunder for me in real and hence didnt show any sign of support or help in whatsoever way, may be if he could compensate. I could create a scene out there and take it to other level but all this while my family was waiting for me in the car ready to leave for the venue. I didnt have time even to argue more so i just left and made other arrangements somehow. But i would only say consistent taste and quality have given them brand value, but such pathetic service, if this also stays consistent in today’s such high service conscious consumer market, it can take them down also. In Covid situation, they have placed "Do not Touch" signs but no precautions are observed as people are literally touching whole of the counters. No social distancing. People are standing closely in queue. In these times also, they are just accepting cash payments only. I went there to buy some packed biscuits but there was so much mis-management, even after spending 15 mins in queue they directed to other person and other person advised me to get back into the line again.
